I strive to share my knowledge and expertise with students and get them technically prepared to succeed in their jobs and careers. In return, I earn their respect and their loyalty. I see many of them coming back to take more OU courses with me.

I believe in teaching by using “concept visualization.” That is, I teach concepts through visuals by making maximum use of the whiteboard and other tools.

It is okay if one does not always know the answer, but one must understand the question. To really understand a thing well, explain it to someone. I teach what I know―not what is written in the book.

Over the past quarter, Ron has led a number of key projects that have directly contributed to service-quality improvements for OU instructors. He recently led an effort to implement KVM/PDU switches on classroom desktops. He spent tireless hours researching solutions and implementing the pilot model. Ron is also an excellent team player. When we had a technical lead escalation-process gap, he immediately volunteered to modify his hours to provide coverage for our EMEA customer base. He is always willing to share knowledge and bring up relevant critical issues at staff meetings.

Training philosophy:
I think that only a small part of our success in the classroom is related to how much we as instructors know about our subjects.  I think we are mostly successful because we know where to find the answers to questions we cannot answer, and we have the ability to clearly convey that information in a manner that empowers our students to succeed.
