Oracle CRM On Demand Release 27 continues to drive home Oracle's commitment to ongoing excellence and innovation, delivering enhanced features and functionality on an agile and fast-paced release track to help accelerate sales and ensure customer productivity and revenue.
This latest Oracle CRM On Demand release provides new features in Usability, Mobile, Extensibility, Social and Industry Innovation. Each of these areas follows the Oracle Customer Experience Strategy, providing a leading and compelling solution for customers and partners to access critical CRM information quickly and easily, all while using their preferred devices and applications.
MORE USABILITY AND USER ADOPTION
A positive user experience leads to increased user adoption and ultimately, a better customer experience for your customers. With Release 27 there have been several key enhancements to our User Interface including Concatenated Fields to take less space on layouts all while respecting inline edit, required fields and field validation; customizable Global Header which allows the creation of quick links, making it easier for users to perform tasks; a novel field type that displays an interactive 5-star or stop light graphic to display key values; and a new, refreshed calendar with multi-day appointments, enhanced day/week/month navigation and improved appointment preview. We've also added the ability to display a map for the Contact or Account Address along with Proximity Search which allows you to find - using your custom lists - other Accounts or Contacts near where you are, or the person you are planning to visit.
MORE MOBILE FOR THE MASSES
Oracle continues to enhance and refine its advanced smart phone and tablet applications, easing the process of selling, signature capture, modification tracking, and distribution of product materials and samples. Using On Demand's advanced mobile tools, sales representatives can focus on the customer and streamline the sales experience, while having the assurance that critical data is current and consistently synchronized between application and device.
Oracle CRM On Demand Connected Mobile Sales (CMS), licensed separately, provides access to CRM information using native applications for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices. New features include improved internationalization and a new associations from the Campaign Object to Custom Objects and Opportunity, which allow for tracking campaigns from CMS.
Oracle CRM On Demand Disconnected Mobile Sales (DMS) is a separately licensed native iPad application that complements the existing capabilities that are available in Oracle CRM On Demand's Life Sciences Edition such as signature capture, samples management, allocations and call planning. New features in Release 1.9 include enhancements to the Today's Map functionality, additional book synchronization support, DEA license validation for controlled substances, structured product messaging, enhanced eDetailing content download user experience, increased extensibility with scripting APIs and central library management, and enhancements to the HTML 5 based eDetailing including thread bar navigation, display messaging within a plan and broadened message tracking controls.
One of Oracle CRM On Demand's key strategies is to provide enhanced functionality for industry verticals, many of which are applicable to multiple industries. Included in our latest release are enhancements for Life Sciences such as the ability to validate the Physician's State License when dropping Samples to ensure regulatory compliance; associating an address with the Best Time to Call on a physician so that your representatives can be at the right place at the right time to offer your products; and the option to filter Samples and Sample Lots against Allocations to control how many samples can be provided to each physician. For Financial Services, the ability to create Activities, Opportunities and Service Requests directly at the Household level has been added; and we've expanded the Portfolio and Household Contact relationships to include the creation of custom fields as well as being able to display a value from a parent record on a relationship list, such as contact details on the Household object. Cross vertical features include adding an Address field to the Service Request object, enabling the tracking of the location the service was performed; and enhanced control over Context Sensitive Lists to make it easier for users to search for records in the Lookup Windows.
Access to key data in CRM On Demand using a familiar application - Microsoft Outlook - ensures access to all CRM information online or offline. Users can manage CRM On Demand appointments, activities, opportunities, and more directly within Outlook using CRM On Demand Desktop, increasing user adoption and decreasing training costs.
For customers that do not require all the features of CRM On Demand Desktop, a free offering called CRM On Demand Desktop Lite is available that provides synchronization of Contacts, Activities and Email between Microsoft Outlook and CRM On Demand.
BROWSER AND CLOUD SUPPORT
Oracle CRM On Demand Release 27 continues support for popular browsers such as the latest versions of Google Chrome, Firefox and Android. Mobile browser support allows continuous access to critical CRM data and helps executives and sales representatives alike manage business imperatives while on the go. Extensibility in the cloud underscores the importance of hosted CRM server code with client-side extensions; this provides a platform for customers to create rich and powerful customizations. Better yet, customers can leverage Oracle infrastructure for inherent security and better performance.
SOCIAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Interacting with customers via social channels is rapidly becoming a key strategy to drive customer satisfaction. Oracle CRM On Demand Release 27 offers tightly coupled integration to the full set of Oracle's Social Relationship Management Suite including Oracle Social Network, which provides internal conversation and document collaboration; Social Marketing which allows the creation of a lead from a Social Campaign directly in CRM On Demand; and Social Engagement and Monitoring that enables users to create a Service Request from a social post and respond to your customers in the channel they have decided to engage with you.
DOING BUSINESS YOUR WAY
As with each release, enhancements have been made to improve Web services. Release 27 sees the addition of a new set of filtering options in the Web services calls allowing your integrations to query on additional filter criteria and return less data, leading to more efficient transactions.
For Analytics reporting, continuous performance improvements and increased object coverage underscore Oracle's commitment to provide the tools to generate critical business intelligence that help map the path to future initiatives. In Release 27, a notable feature is the addition of a Report Execution API that enables you to run a report via Web service call. This functionality will allow you to run and distribute reports without having to request them from CRM On Demand.
