Oracle unveiled the winners of the 2010 'Enable the Eco-Enterprise' awards at the Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco. This award showcases customer successes using Oracle products to support their green business practices.
In Oracle's third-annual showcase of its customers' environmental leadership, Oracle has honored 15 global customers and their respective partners with the Oracle 'Enable the Eco-Enterprise' awards.
The Oracle 'Enable the Eco-Enterprise' award recognizes customers from a wide-range of industries that are using Oracle products (Sun, business applications, sustainability reporting, and/or technology products) to support their green business practices and sustainability initiatives in order to reduce their environmental impact, costs and improve business efficiencies.
The 15 winning companies are: Agencia Nacional de Aguas (National Water Agency), Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco Systems, Costco Wholesale, Essex County Council, Farmers Insurance, Fitness First, Iberdola Renewables, Interpark, Intertek, MercadoLibre, Inc., Northern Arizona University, Sandia National Labs, University of Massachusetts, and Verizon Wireless.
The winning partners are: Capgemini, Fujitsu, ImageSource, Knowledge Global, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Oracle Hardware Sales Consulting, Oracle On Demand, Project Partners LLC, and UNIMIX Tecnologia. These partners worked with the various customer winners on their sustainability projects using Oracle products.
The 15 winning companies were selected by a panel of 6 judges, 4 of these are Oracle green experts along with Adam Werbach, Chief Sustainability Officer, Saatchi & Saatchi and Kathleen Schwille, Director of Program Development, National Geographic Education. The Oracle judges were: Liz From, Principal Data Center Analyst; Rich Kroes, Product Strategy Director; Marcy Lynn, Director of Corporate Citizenship; and John O'Rourke, Vice President of Enterprise Performance Management Product Marketing.
