Oracle unveiled the winners of the 2011 'Eco-Enterprise Innovation' awards at the Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco. These awards were presented to select customers and their partners who used Oracle products to not only take an environmental lead, but also to reduce their costs and improve their business efficiencies using green business practices.
In Oracle's fourth-annual showcase of its customers' environmental leadership, Oracle has honored 12 global customers and their respective partners with the Oracle 'Eco-Enterprise Innovation' awards. These awards were presented by Jeff Henley, Oracle Chairman of the Board, to select customers who were able to reduce their environmental footprint while also reducing costs using a variety of Oracle products. Several partners were also honored as they helped these customers with their sustainability initiatives.
Winners hail from a wide range of industries and regions. The winning nomination forms were selected by a panel of seven judges, including Heli Helskyaho, Ambassador EMEA Oracle User Groups Community, President Oracle User Group Finland, CEO Miracle Finland Oy; Kari Reiterer, Consultant, Fronde and Board Member of New Zealand Oracle Users Group; and Kathleen Schwille, Vice President, Educational Design and Development, National Geographic Education. The 4 Oracle judges were: Liz From, Senior Principal Product Director; Rich Kroes, Product Strategy Director; John O'Rourke, Vice President of Enterprise Performance Management Product Marketing; and Jitinder Sethi, Senior Director Corporate Citizenship.
