(As of Tuesday, 17 April 2007)
Oracle's 16-way Sun SPARC Enterprise M8000 server (16 processors, 32 cores, 64 threads) with 2.4GHz SPARC64 VI processors achieved 7,300 users on the two-tier SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark SAP ERP 2005 application benchmark. This is a world record for systems with 16 or fewer processors as of 04/16/07, beating the 16-way IBM p-570 (16 processors, 16 cores, 32 threads) by 32 percent and the 16-way HP Integrity Superdome (16 processors, 32 cores, 64 threads) by 30 percent.
The SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark is a two-tier ERP business test that represents full business workloads of order processing and invoice processing, while demonstrating the ability to run both the application and database software on a single system. The SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark represents the critical tasks performed in real-world ERP business environments.
