Oracle is announcing the call for submissions for the 2009 Oracle Excellence Awards for application grid solutions. This award is designed to recognize organizations using Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies to create an application grid foundation.

Nomination Deadline

• Final date for nominations is Friday, August 14, 2009
• Winning organizations will be notified in September 2009

Nomination Eligibility

• Use of one or more Oracle Fusion Middleware application grid products.
• Use the clustering capabilities of Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Tuxedo, and/or Oracle Coherence.
• The solution should be in production or in active development.
• Solution categories include:
  
  

  High Transaction Volume	High Performance (including Real-time)
  Mainframe Re-hosting	Large Scale (On-demand Scalability)

• Nominations should highlight business value already realized or anticipated: Reduced cost, Improved service levels, Increased capacity, Increased business continuity, Improved agility
• Partners are encouraged to nominate on behalf of their clients. Partners will also be recognized as excellence award winners, if their clients win.

Award Selection

The Awards Selection Committee, consisting of individuals from Oracle and non-Oracle parties will select the winners. Winners will be judged on multiple criteria including, but not limited to:

• Resource efficiency
• Automation and/or speed of capacity adjustment (scaling)
• Predictable Quality of Service
• Project ROI / Level of impact (ROI/soft benefits) relative to the size of the organization
• Complexity/magnitude of implementation
• Originality of architecture
• Uniqueness of business use case
