Why Oracle
GE Capital Retail Finance group’s legacy data warehouse environment was built on Oracle technology. When it came time to rethink the environment, the company did its due diligence. It conducted a paper analysis of five solutions and narrowed the list to Oracle Exadata Database Machine and a competing solution. While initial costs were comparable, the move to a different vendor platform would be expensive.
