Release Notes Oracle Solaris[TM] Operating System Oracle Hardware Certification Test Suite (Oracle HCTS) Version 5.2 ----------------------------------------------------- The Oracle Hardware Certification Test Suite (Oracle HCTS) application enables independent hardware vendors (IHVs), system manufacturers, system integrators, and end users to certify their systems and components for the Oracle Solaris Operating System (OS). Oracle HCTS 5.2 replaces Oracle HCTS 5.1. Ensure to use the most updated version of Oracle HCTS. Check the Oracle HCTS web site at http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/hcl/hcts57/index.html frequently to see whether a newer version of Oracle HCTS exists. This document describes the features of Oracle HCTS 5.2 and includes the following topics: o Oracle HCTS 5.2 New Features o Known Issue o More Information o Technical Support Note - Before you use Oracle HCTS, ensure to check whether the system that you want to test already exists on Oracle Solaris OS hardware compatibility list (HCL). The HCL web site is at http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/hcl/index.html. Oracle HCTS 5.2 New Features ---------------------- The Oracle HCTS 5.2 release includes the following new features: o Support Oracle Solaris 11 11/11. o Support Oracle Solaris 10 Update 10. Known Issue ------------ o HCTS system/storage certification needs to creat extra swap files if the system has a large memory. This action will require extra disk space to store the extra swap files. So the certification can not proceed if there is no enough disk space for the extra swap files. Refer to CR6704302 for more details. Workaround: Reduce the physical memory during the boot process. In grub menu, add "-B physmem= $mem_size" to the command line /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B $ZFS-BOOTFS For example, /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B $ZFS-BOOTFS -B physmem=524288 is to set the physical memory to 2GB. More Information ----------------- For more information about the Oracle Solaris OS certification program and the Oracle HCTS application, see the following web site: http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/hcl/hcts57/index.html Technical Support ------------------ To get help with the Oracle HCTS application, do one of the following: o Send an email to: hcts-support_ww_grp@oracle.com Copyright (c) 2004, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates.
