Review and complete site
requirements
1Review and complete space
requirements
Consult with your data center administrator to review and complete
all site requirements.
Verify that your site meets all the requirements to receive an
Exadata Cloud Machine system.
Exadata Cloud Machine is contained in one rack.
The minimum height from the floor to the ceiling for placing the
rack is 3214 mm (126 inches).
The maximum shipping weight of the rack is 1150 kg (2535 lbs).
2Verify electrical power
requirements
Use dedicated AC breaker panels for all power circuits that supply
power to Exadata Cloud Machine and Exadata Cloud Control Plane.
Provide also a stable power source, such as an Uninterruptible Power
Supply (UPS).
In the United States and Canada, ensure that the overall system AC
input current load does not exceed 80% of the branch circuit AC
current rating.
Verify that the power outlets are within 2m (6.6 feet) of the
cabinet.
3Review ventilation
requirements
Set conditions to the optimal temperature and humidity ranges to
minimize the chance of downtime due to component failure.
Ensure adequate air flow by not obstructing the front or rear of
the rack.
Use the following number of perforated floor tiles in front of the
rack: 4 floor tiles for Full Rack, 3 for Half Rack, and 1 for
Quarter Rack, Eighth Rack or Exadata Cloud Control Plane.
Approximately 400 CFM per tile. See the attached diagram.
Review and complete network
requirements
4Verify network
requirements
Consult with your data center network administrator to review and
complete the requirements for the management network, client access
network, backup network, customer administration network and
InfiniBand private network.
Ensure that DNS and NTP services are available in your data center.
5Review IP address
requirements
Allocate the required IP addresses for the management network,
client access network, backup network, customer administration
network and InfiniBand private network.
Configure the required DNS entries for Exadata Cloud Machine.
6Review network drop
requirements
Make sure that you have the required network drops, including
cabling and switches, for connecting the management network, client
access network, backup network and customer administration network.
See the Exadata Cloud Machine Deployment Guide for the
full list of requirements.
