Firefox 59 and Chrome 65 are now the preferred browsers for Oracle Eloqua.
We have made performance improvements with data export.
When creating new page tags using either auto-tagging rules or meta tagging rule, you can now select a folder for the generated page tags.
Additional Analytics Interface Access Controls
When creating a security group, individual interface access options are now available for analytics. You can select access to each area separately: Classic Insight, Dashboards, and Insight.
Classic Insight Set to Read-Only Mode
Starting May 18th, 2018, Classic Insight will be set to Read-Only Mode. While in Read-Only Mode, users will not be able to create or edit reports and dashboards. Thus as of May 18th, 2018, any new custom reports must be created within the new Insight Reporting area. Please note: No exceptions can be granted; all Classic Insight accounts go into Read-Only Mode May 18th.
As a reminder, access to Classic Insight will be removed for all customers on September 30, 2018.
Dashboards Landing Page Enhancements
The text on the Dashboards landing page has been updated to match the rest of the Eloqua user interface:
- Campaign has been changed to Orchestration
- Lead Scoring has been changed to Audience
Enhancements to Insight Agents
Agents can now export up to 5000 rows. Agents enable you to schedule content publishing in Insight. Agents use automation to trigger delivery of information to others, such as sending weekly reports to subscribers or notifying the individuals depending on the results of a report.
The Campaign attribute folder has been removed from the Opportunity Created Date subject area.
The Segment ID has been added to Segment attribute folders in Insight.
The Dynamic Content subject area is now available.
Two new Insight reports are now available:
- Dynamic Content by Campaign
- Dynamic Content by Email
New Contact Database Health Dashboard
A Contact Database Health Dashboard is now available. This dashboard is a current state snapshot of the contacts in a customer's database. It answers the question: Who in my contact database can I reach and is actively engaged with my emails?
The BlueKai Data Activation app is now generally available. It was previously part of our controlled availability program. You can now download it from the Oracle Cloud Marketplace.This app is an integration between Oracle Eloqua and BlueKai that provides data unification to help marketers find, segment, and target customers at the right time based on their preferences.
IMPORTANT: A BlueKai DMP (Data Management Platform) instance is required to use this integration.
You can now import opportunities from Oracle Sales Cloud into Oracle Eloqua to enable marketers to report on opportunities and measure campaign effectiveness.
You can help your WeChat followers get more information by providing a link to a WeChat mini-program.
You can tag WeChat followers who are managed as WeChat contacts in Oracle Eloqua by configuring the WeChat Contact Information Synchronizer action service in a campaign and specifying a tag.
You can send messages to followers who have been tagged with the specified tag.
You can keep the subscription status of your WeChat followers up to date by using the WeChat Contact Information Synchronizer action service in a campaign.
WeChat template messages now support colorized text attributes.
When reviewing the campaign membership details on a contact record, Oracle Eloqua now presents a user friendly error message if there are issues with displaying the report data.
As part of our ongoing user interface enhancements in Oracle Eloqua, menus in some areas have changed:
- Actions >> menu has been renamed to Actions.
- Some options from the Actions >> menu have moved to a new File menu.
Impacted areas include:
- Landing page Design Editor and Source Editor
- Email Classic Design Editor, Source Editor, Template Editor, and Source Template Editor
- Forms editor
- Lead Scoring editor
- Segments editor
When viewing a contact record, on the Summary tab, you can now mouse-over assets with long names to view the full name of the asset.
Click-Through Visualizer Report
The Click-through Visualizer report has been translated.
Email Design Editor Custom Color Preferences
In the email Design Editor, your custom color preferences are retained. For example, if you select a custom color in a color picker, then those custom colors will be populated the next time you open the picker.
Email Design Editor Image Scaling
In the email Design Editor, you can now scale the size of an image based on the size of the content block.
Email Design Editor Mobile Mode Editing
You can now edit your Design Editor emails in mobile mode.
Email Design Editor Send as Plain-Text
You can now send an email as plain-text only from the email Design Editor.
Email Design Editor Writing Right to Left
The email Design Editor now gives you the option to write from right to left.
Additional Enhancements to the Email Design Editor
The email Design Editor has undergone a few additional enhancements:
- Layout columns can be resized.
- Web safe fonts are listed at the top of the font drop-down list.
- Line-height is now set in pixels to improve rendering in Microsoft Outlook.
- The name of cloud content is now displayed when it's uploaded.
Updated Soft and Hard Bounce Definitions
Soft and hard bounce definitions have been updated to help you better understand campaign results.
Changes have been made to Eloqua's data retention policy. Form submission data and website activity will be only retained for 25 months. Learn more by reading our product notice.
Optional Form Field Validation
Oracle Eloqua no longer validates optional form fields when they are blank.
We have made performance improvements to the Program Canvas Listener Step.
Templates on the All and My tabs in Engage can now be sorted alphabetically as well as by most recently modified.
Dynamic fields in the subject line of Engage messages are populated and can optionally be removed.
The Activities tab shows new messaging for previews if the activity is older than 120 days: Preview no longer available. Previews are only available for 120 days.
LinkedIn Sales Navigator can now be accessed when viewing a contact record in Profiler. LinkedIn Sales navigator is a business solution offered by LinkedIn to help sales users target buyers, understand key insights, and engage with prospects. Profiler searches for a match in LinkedIn based on the Oracle Eloqua contact's first name, last name, and company name.
IMPORTANT: To enable this feature, please log in to My Oracle Support and create a service request.
You can now select multiple asset types and action filters for the Asset History audit log.
Improved Security with Landing Pages
As a part of our ongoing security enhancements, you can now prevent web pages from being embedded in a frame, iframe, or object. You configure this prevention for each microsite.
By default, any new microsite will prevent embedding. Existing microsites will allow embedding. You should review these setting for all of your existing microsites.
New Action Permissions Available
As part of our ongoing security enhancements, Eloqua is introducing a new action permissions: Manage Account Fields and Manage Contact Fields.
These permissions will manage creating, updating and deleting Account and Contact fields. For new customers, all users will still have access to create, update and delete Account and Contact fields. For existing customers, all Eloqua user groups will still have access to view, create, update, and delete Account and Contact Fields.

When an Eloqua user changes their expired password, they must enter their old password before it can be changed.
Email resend limit and validation have been removed from send submitter email processing step.
Deprecation of “Register a Domain” Feature
Register a New Domain feature has been deprecated. Learn more by reading our product notice.
Deprecation of Best Practice Email Templates
Email best practice templates have been removed from the Best Practice template gallery. New templates are available for the email Design Editor.
TLS 1.0 Deprecation for Eloqua and Content Marketing
Oracle is updating Eloqua and Content Marketing’s application security mechanisms to meet modern security requirements. As of June 1, Eloqua and Content Marketing will no longer allow inbound connections using the TLS 1.0 protocol. Eloqua and Content Marketing will continue to support inbound connections using the TLS 1.1 and 1.2 protocols.
You can now use the Programs API in REST 2.0 to create, update, retrieve, delete, activate, deactivate, and pause Programs. Learn more.
We've added opportunities endpoints that enable developers to import opportunities into Eloqua's opportunity object. Developers can then perform another import to link the opportunities with Eloqua contacts. For more information on these endpoints, see the API documentation or the tutorial.
We've added a new parameter, nullIdentifierFieldName, that enables you to null the identifierFieldName when performing an account or contact import.
Prior to release 18B, it was possible for email sends to fail if an email was sent to deleted contacts. As of release 18B when emails are sent via any channel in Eloqua and one or more of the target contacts are in a deleted state, emails sent to that recipient will fail and a log entry is saved indicating why the email send failed.
Resolved an issue where retrieving a list of accounts in REST 1.0 wasn't returning values for custom account fields.
Resolved an issue where it was possible to update completed campaigns. Campaigns that are completed can no longer be updated.
As announced in Code It, the recordCount property has been removed. Learn more.

Added viewId to the URL parameter list. Use the viewId parameter to specify an account or account view to filter data according to that view. Learn more.
