|A large portion of the design patterns and guidelines on this Web site for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 10g may also apply to OBIEE 11g.
For example, the first step to any successful design project involves understanding your users, generating use cases and developing usage scenarios, which is Step 1 in the Design Process section of this site. Following this process for designing a business intelligence (BI) application is recommended for both OBIEE 10g and 11g.
In addition, the Design Patterns section of this site is applicable to both OBIEE 10g and 11g. The design patterns are generic enough that they can be used in either version of OBIEE. This includes all of the information display patterns on the site, as well as the Pattern Filter Tool.
The information in the Design Guidelines section also applies to OBIEE 11g as well as 10g, although there may be some differences in the design time screen appearance for setting attributes.
The following portions of the Web site do not apply:
- Since the technology has changed, the technical guidelines on this Web site may not apply to OBIEE 11g.
- There are no patterns for the new interface elements in OBIEE 11g. These include the pivot table and graph/gauge slider.
