| Information Display |
| The Information Display pattern group helps project managers, developers, and designers select visualization techniques such as tables and graphs, which enable users to understand the meaning and significance of the numbers. Numbers are central to a user's understanding of business, and they help users make informed decisions. |

Lots of information can be shown in a single data field. The field can be a snapshot (current value) of a given metric or performance indicator. It can also show a trend with trend indicators (up/down arrows). It can show where this value is in comparison to business policies and guidelines with status indicators (bad, good, OK) and color coding. The field can be a ratio to show where the value is in comparison to its peers. If the comparison needs to be done across different business attributes (dimensions), the field can show a weighted score (e.g. credit score or churn likelihood). The score not only can be based on business rules, but also on predictions. If needed, the data field can be interactive with more details about the value behind it available upon request.
