Anyone with an idea for a new product might be wondering what features and functions users will require for it to be successful. In this workshop, attendees will learn why usability must be included in product requirements; practice using ISO standard methods to articulate, document, and measure usability requirements through small-group role-playing and hands-on exercises; learn basic techniques for customer site visits, interviews, usability goal-setting, and usability evaluation planning; and become familiar with the Common Industry Specification for Usability - Requirements (CISU–R), the requirements extension of ISO 25062, Common Industry Format for Usability Testing, using a case study example. The workshop is appropriate for HF/E practitioners from beginner to intermediate level and has been taught numerous times for Oracle employees and customers around the world who may or may not have human factors backgrounds. Intended for levels beginner to novice; advance pre-workshop reading required.

Date: Monday, October 27, 2014
