Why 2020 Is the Year of Data
Data convinced my family to sit by candlelight—thanks to a challenge from our local utility to reduce peak energy demand. The program is made possible by smart meters and behavior change dashboards such as Oracle Utilities Opower. Gamifying energy conservation is a big business, and it’s powered by data. Now think of all the other areas where data science is just beginning to take effect. Are you ready?
In 2020 DBAs should hit their local user group to “just come and try, see what is actually good for your next move,” says Sai Penumuru, chief technologist at DXC Technology and president of the All India Oracle Users Group (AIOUG). “For example, with Oracle Autonomous Database, you can practice using machine learning notebooks.”
How is data changing your apps? Write me with your thoughts.
