Cloud Integration Patterns
Cloud Integration Patterns Using Oracle PaaS by Abhay Kumar
Integration is a key aspect in any Cloud implementation. The integration usecases can be presented in many forms such as integrating cloud applications and on-premises applications in real-time or getting a data into an application from a file generated by a data-source or it can exposing APIs to an application which does not expose web-services natively. This blog describes high-level integration patterns using Oracle’s PaaS services. This blog provides high-level design patterns backed by a real-world usecases. Some of these patterns may have an implementation reference that provides drill down details into the implementation of these patterns. However, some patterns may not have the implementation details as yet. Overall the objective of this blog provides the readers a high-level idea on what common patterns that have been implemented in the field.
Integration with API less Systems
Integration with API less Systems – Leveraging RPA – Definitive Tip #10 by Phil Wilkins
Traditionally integrating with systems that don’t offer APIs or a shared storage mechanism (such as open tables) has been something of a headache often resulting in the ‘last mile’ of the integration process being manual. The manual steps often come because the cost of building and maintaining the means to integrate has not been cost effective or even an option (vendor has end of lifted a product, and not willing to add an integration mechanism).
Application services governance
Application services governance with API Platform in the GDPR compliance example by Milomir Vojvodic
The European Union General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) was intended to harmonize data protection laws across Europe and to strengthen individuals' rights by giving people greater control over their personal information. The GDPR introduces a number of new obligations on controllers and processors and it imposes a range of stricter data protection requirements.
API Caching
API Caching with the Oracle API Platform by Phil Wilkins
We have been developing some advanced custom API policies for a client and in the process picked up on a few insights that didn’t even make into the API book. One of these policies is to provide an optimization around caching of API calls. The rest of this blog will talk about the tricks we have specifically applied to link an API Gateway to a caching mechanism and why.
Welcoming OpenAPI
Welcoming OpenAPI 3.0 to Apiary by Kyle
I’m delighted to announce experimental support for OpenAPI 3.0 in Apiary. OpenAPI 3 is the new major version of the OpenAPI Specification, the successor to OpenAPI 2 (or formerly known as Swagger 2).
Rain or Shine
Rain or Shine, Oracle Integration Has You Covered free on-demand training
Use integrations and Visual Builder to create a web application that lets you get the latest weather forecast for any city, state, or zip code. In this learning path, you'll use Oracle Integration to build a web application that uses an integration to interact with a REST API to get the weather forecast. With Oracle Integration, you have the power to build applications and quickly design integrations that connect applications into a seamless unified solution. In this learning path, you’ll build a solution to enable your users to view weather forecast for a given location. You want users to be able to enter the zip code or the name of a location and view details like what’s the local time, temperature, wind speed, and humidity level in that location. Let’s say you want to build something like this:
Oracle Integration Cloud
Oracle Integration Cloud UiPath Connector by Amy Simpson-Grange
Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) is an integration solution that simplifies connectivity between applications. It has 3 main components:
• Integration Cloud Service (ICS) —> this is the one we will look at
• Process Cloud Service (PCS)
• Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS)
New Names for Oracle Integration Cloud
New Names for Oracle Integration Cloud Products by Antonella Giovannetti
For simplicity, we have shortened our name:
Oracle Integration(OIC-C) was formerly known as Oracle Integration Cloud. You will see it on your Cloud Dashboard as "Oracle Integration Classic"
Oracle Integration(OIC) was formerly known as Autonomous Oracle Integration Cloud. You will see it on your Cloud Dashboard as "Oracle Integration"
When opening a Service Request(SR) in MOS please select the new names: Oracle Integration for "Oracle Integration Classic" and Oracle Integration-OIC for "Oracle Integration"
This change has no impact on functionality.

Integration: Heart of the Digital Economy Podcast Series – Moving Data to the Cloud and Autonomous Data Warehouse by Steve Quan
Digital transformation is inevitable if want to thrive in today’s economy. We've heard about how application and data integration play a central role in business transformations. Since data has become a valuable commodity, integration plays a critical role in sharing data with applications in hybrid cloud environments or populating data lakes for analytics. In these two podcasts you can learn how easy it is to seamlessly integrate data for these use cases.
OIC for HCM - Data Extracts by Niall Commiskey
This post is more a note for myself.
I need to demo HCM extract functionality via the OIC HCM adapter.
I have access to an HCM environment - but don't have an extract to play with.
So I do the following - export one of the preseeded Extracts - Worker - and then import under a new name. As you can see, I added Delivery options - specifying Output Type - Data - so as to avoid having to
specify a Report(BI/Report) / Template Name.

Note: Delivery Type is set to WebCenter Content.
Call REST API in Service Bus (JSON Request/Response) by Denis Velagic
In this example we will create similar integration as in previous post and only difference will be that both Request and Response will be in JSON format. So let’s call it a typed REST service. We will call a REST API with JSON data format (parameters as input) and as a Response we will get JSON also. So, if you have a requirement to work with some RESTful API that works only with JSON data format you can do it easy in the Service Bus version without converting to XSD. All data mapping can be done in JavaScript activity. JavaScript is not limited to REST services. We can use JavaScript in any service. Here we will call Weather data Rest API and retrieve some JSON information, and this is an example URL of this API. For more information on this API and how to use it you can visit Open Wheater site

Embeddable Oracle Integration
What are Embeddable Oracle Integration Cloud Process Components and why are they important? By Tom Albrecht
To get their job done, today’s knowledge worker is often forced to use many different application user interfaces. For example, they may be using Oracle Sales Cloud to review their Sales Opportunities, and then have to navigate to a completely different application UI (with a different look and feel) to approve some other sales related tasks. Why not consolidate this experience and give the knowledge worker the experience of performing their work in the context of where they spend most of their time?

My private Corner – prepare the demo!
Every year we prepare a new demo for the #PaaSForum. During the 2017 conference in Split #BanditCloudExpert approved, based on Oracle Process Cloud, Jean-Marcs keynote. Last year in Budapest we took care of an Easter bunny. In this case solution we adapted a bunny and feed it. The goal of the demonstration is to proof innovation of the Oracle Cloud platform and to have some fun! Proof of concepts and rapid prototypes are the key in a sales process. The Oracle cloud enables you as a partner to deliver customer value within minutes & days. What will we present 2019? Join the emerging PaaS Partner Community Forum in Majorca and find out! #jkwc
