Dear Partners,

Welcome to the Q2 edition of the EMEA Oracle MySQL Partner Newsletter.

This quarter, I’m delighted to introduce Marco Aiello to our MySQL team as our new Channel & Alliance Manager for Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Netherlands and Luxemburg. Marco speaks multiple languages and will be based in the Netherlands so if he’s not already been in touch with you, please feel free to please reach out him to say hello.

We’ve launched a new and key initiative around MySQL Partner Sales Enablement which is an online resource containing information and assets, designed to help our partner sales teams sell MySQL Enterprise Edition.

And of course from an events point of view it’s been another busy 3 months for us – with two more technical boot camps in Poland / South Africa, then many more partner focussed sales events on top.

New Channel & Alliance Sales Manager
Marco Aiello
Marco is Italian born from the South, speaks multiple languages and comes back to Oracle with 15 years IT Sales experience in both direct and channel roles. He initially worked for Oracle in Dublin until 2011, moved to SAP for six and half years in Spain before more recently joining IP Soft in the Netherlands to initiate their EMEA Channel business. Marco’s interests outside of work are travelling, cooking Italian food, watching and playing soccer (he is also a decent player), jogging, swimming, reading and going to the movies. He’s based in the Netherlands.

Please keep in mind the following cut-off dates for partner orders submission:

Offline Orders sent to the MySQL Channel Managers:
Orders <200K November 26th (Tuesday – 3 p.m. Local Country HQ Time)  
• Orders 200K November 30th (Saturday – 9 p.m. Local Country HQ time)

Complete Electronic Orders Submission via Oracle Partner Store (OPS) and XML.
November 30th (Saturday – 9 p.m. Local Country HQ Time) *

Successful Events with Our Partners 
SPI / Abast Madrid, Spain – Workshop (Sept 26, 2019) 
Our partner SPI/Abast in conjunction with Arrow, held a well-attended workshop on MySQL Enterprise. Key customers and prospects came together for an interactive discussion on the benefits of MySQL Enterprise and got a taste of technology as demonstrated by MySQL experts. Our new Channel Manager - Marco Aiello and our sales rep Juan Canas attended and were delighted with the event. “We had a full house and already we have 3 excellent opportunities, thanks you to all that attended” - Marco Aiello.
ARROW Partner Connect - Brussels, Belgium
This is the first event Partner Connect in Belgium with Arrow and the event aims to ‘connect’ with an opportunity to meet key partners. MySQL was one the key exhibitors in the hall. The event was attended by Neville Tanzer, Marco Aiello and Garreth McCullagh. “It was great to meet the key Arrow sales managers and partners who visited our booth and also learn the latest insights from other vendors. MySQL Enterprise is a great open source software technology that provides great value and residual benefits for partners and customers alike”- Neville Tanzer
MySQL Bootcamps – Poland (October)
We had our first Bootcamp in Poland and partners were delighted with the opportunity to get free (conditional) training which prepares them in getting certified in MySQL Enterprise Edition.

Launching the MySQL Partner Sales Enablement initiative this quarter. We have put together an online resource containing information and assets, designed to help our partner sales teams sell MySQL Enterprise Edition. The content is structured very simply with the right information available depending on what sales person needs.

New MySQL Security Campaign 
New MySQL Security Campaign is now available on Oracle’s Channel Marketing Automation center via Zift platform. As an OPN partner you can register for access to the Service, activate the campaign and generate new leads and sales with MySQL Security.
