Students from Thailand to benefit from more opportunities to learn computing skills

Bangkok, Thailand September 23, 2021

The Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand (APHEIT) and Oracle Thailand signed a joint agreement to advance computing skills in Thailand. As part of the agreement, around 39 universities from APHEIT which offer computer science as part of their syllabus will join the free Oracle Academy programme that offers institutions and educators access to a wide range of teaching and educational resources, including curriculum, classroom learning resources, software, cloud technology, practice environments, and much more.

With this agreement, computer science students from universities such as Siam University,  and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce will gain computing knowledge and hands-on experience with the latest technologies, to help them succeed in the new digital era.

“Oracle Academy is closely working with educators around the world to bring computer education to millions of students and help change lives. We are excited to work with APHEIT to bring the programme to even more universities in Thailand, providing Thai students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of learning and technology resources for the jobs of the future. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to helping students become technology innovators and leaders,” said Taveesak Saengthong, Country Managing Director, Oracle Thailand.

APHEIT President, Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit said: “APHEIT is very pleased to collaborate with Oracle Academy to continue the advancement of computing education, and the development of our students and workforce at large to be well equipped with the computing skills, knowledge, and attitude needed today and in the future”.

The agreement will be valid for four years beginning September 2021. With the signing of this agreement, Oracle Academy will now support 128 educational institutions, more than 650 educators and thousands of students in Thailand as part of the Oracle Academy Professional Development programme to help educators expand knowledge, develop skills and innovate.
