RD will open the new KFC digital flagship standalone branch in Ekkamai at the end of this month. The restaurant boasts self-order kiosks, a digital menu board, and has features dedicated to the increasing demand for food delivery and off-premise dining, including 24/7 drive-thru ordering.

Restaurants Development (RD) is leveraging Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to fuel its continuous KFC restaurant expansion plans and business growth. With Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, RD can efficiently manage the financial operations, expenses and procurement processes of the over 200 KFC restaurants under its umbrella.

Since its inception in 2016, the KFC franchisee has been growing its sales, number of restaurants, and employees every year. They looked to the cloud in 2017 to support this steady growth and went live on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP in 2018.

“With the COVID situation affecting everyone, working from home for the finance team became the norm. This is not a problem with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP as we are able to securely access financial data remotely from anywhere. In fact, our financial operations continued running virtually seamlessly on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, and was the least of my worries,” said Manoj Chatpibal, Chief Financial Officer, Restaurants Development. “Since going live on Oracle’s technology, we have successfully shortened the time taken to close our financial books by half immediately. As we continue improving the process using Oracle’s technology, the days taken to close will reduce and we are aiming for it to take less than a week by this year.”

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP gives RD a complete view of its financial position and results so it can respond quickly to an ever-changing business environment. The embedded analytics in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP provides prepackaged use cases, predictive analysis, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) based on variance analysis and historical trends.

“The pandemic has reinforced the role of technology in building resilience and agility to ensure business continuity,” said Wallapa Piemnoppakao, country general manager and head of applications, Oracle Thailand. “Despite food and beverage businesses being among one of the more affected sectors, RD has continued to successfully expand their business. Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP has enabled them to standardize and automate processes to improve speed and accuracy and evolve into a more data-driven organization.”
