Pilot, Writer and Order of Australia Recipient
Richard got his first taste of a future flying career as a 14-year-old when his father organised a tour of the RAAF Academy at Point Cook in Victoria. He knew then that he wanted to become an RAAF Officer and Pilot. In 1975, aged 17, he joined the RAAF and during his 11 years with the RAAF, he was seconded as Aide-de-Camp to two Australian Governors General – Sir Zelman Cowan and Sir Ninian Stephen.
Richard joined Qantas in 1986 and in 2008 was one of Qantas’ most senior captains. It was at the control of the world’s largest and most advanced commercial jetliner the A380, when he and his fellow officers were faced with their greatest challenge. This pivotal event has changed his life forever. Richard has written two books, QF32, which tells the story of the incident in gripping detail and Fly, covering leadership, teamwork, risk-assessment, decision-making, crisis management, lifelong resilience and more. In the 2016 Australia Day Honours, Richard de Crespigny was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his significant service to the aviation industry, both nationally and internationally, particularly to flight safety and to the community.
Chief Financial Officer, Inland Revenue Department New Zealand
Lara joined Inland Revenue in April 2016. Before joining IR, Lara was the Deputy Chief Executive - Finance at the Tertiary Education Commission. Lara worked for the Ministry of Justice initially as the CFO and then as General Manager Performance and Improvement, Courts and Tribunals. She also spent time as the CFO at Te Papa Tongarewa, the Museum of New Zealand, and working in planning and finance teams across the public sector. Lara started her career working in receivership and insolvency with accountancy firm Price Waterhouse and then McCallum Petterson and Co.
Project Manager Followmont Transport
Renee is responsible for leading the design, planning and implementation of projects including the recent HR digital transformation with the deployment of the Human Capital Management system – OracleHCM.
Renee commenced with Followmont Transport in 2015 as an HR generalist, partnering with the business to deliver high-performance outcomes. Identifying an internal mobility opportunity, in 2019 Renee transitioned to the position of Project Manager within the IT Department to gain a greater level of exposure of the business operations and digital landscape. Holding a Bachelor and Post-Graduate Degrees, Renee has gained over 10 years of HR experience across various industries including Transportation and Logistics, Australian Immigration, Finance, Legal and Mining Services. Digitalisation and change management is a passion for Renee, as she approaches all projects with the mindset that the human element must remain the focus.
Senior Vice President, Applications, Japan and Asia Pacific
Adrian Johnston is senior vice president of Applications for Oracle in Japan and Asia Pacific. He is responsible for leading the business for Oracle’s cloud offerings in the applications space. Adrian first joined Oracle in 2002 as vice president of Applications and Product Operations for Asia Pacific. He then went on to hold several other positions, including vice president of the Applications Midmarket business unit. From 2008 to 2015, Adrian held the position of vice president of the Microsoft Business Solutions Division in Asia, after which he returned to Oracle. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New South Wales.

Des Cahill leads product strategy, messaging, and marketing for the Oracle Customer Experience Cloud suite. The Oracle CX Cloud suite empowers organizations to take a smarter approach to customer experience management and business transformation initiatives. Des holds an MBA from San Jose State University and a BS in managerial economics from Union College.

Emily He is Oracle’s Senior Vice President of the Human Capital Management Cloud business group. Prior to joining Oracle, she was CMO of DoubleDutch, a leader in digital marketing solutions for events, conferences, and trade shows.
She has 18 years of experience in various enterprise software roles, including marketing, corporate strategy, and business development at companies such as Siebel Systems, E2Open, and Saba Software. Emily is a recognised thought leader on digital transformation, marketing, talent management and authentic leadership. Her perspectives have appeared in business publications including the Economist, Fortune, Forbes, Fast Company, and the Huffington Post.
Senior Vice President, Business Development, Technology License and Systems, Oracle Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific
Andrew Sutherland is Oracle senior vice president for Systems and Technology for EMEA and APAC. He is responsible for growing market share, developing business strategies, and managing competencies in Oracle’s technology and systems offerings. Andrew has worked at Oracle since 1995, holding executive positions in technology sales, commercial strategy, and business development. Andrew holds an MBA, a PhD in digital signal processing, and a first-class BSc in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Edinburgh. He is a chartered engineer and has contributed to more than 15 technical publications on multimedia and business issues.
Senior Vice President, SaaS Product Marketing, Oracle
Juergen Lindner is the senior vice president for SaaS Product Marketing. Prior to joining Oracle in 2016 he held several leadership roles at SAP SE, including global vice president Go-to-market and Sales Enablement for all SAP product lines, and leadership roles in financials, procurement, mobile, analytics, database & technology. As a 20+ year veteran in the enterprise software industry, Juergen is driven to help companies succeed in their transformation journeys and taking full advantage of new emerging technologies. Juergen holds a master’s in international business administration and Management from the University of Applied Science in Constance, Germany.
Chief Sustainability Officer & Group Vice President, Supply Chain Management Product Strategy, Oracle
Jon Chorley is group vice president of product strategy for Oracle's supply chain management (SCM) applications and leads the team responsible for driving the business requirements and product roadmaps for these applications. Oracle's best-in-class SCM applications support value-chain transformation through the enablement of the information-driven value chain. These solutions include product lifecycle management, transportation and logistics, manufacturing, asset lifecycle management, value-chain planning, and order fulfillment.
Chief Technology Officer, Emersion Software Systems
Martin began coding while still in high school. He cut his teeth in IT in the support teams of some of Australia’s earliest internet providers. An experienced Chief Technology Officer and Solutions Architect, Martin has over 15 years’ experience architecting next generation billing platforms at some of Australia’s leading telecommunications and managed service providers. In 2008, he joined Emersion from Dodo and was given the task of building a cloud-based subscription billing solution before the cloud had a name! As a very early adopter to the cloud, Martin has an in-depth understanding of where technology is heading.
