Oracle’s Vision for Simplifying Data-Driven Apps and Analytics

Modern apps create powerful experiences and valuable insights using a new generation of data technologies. Yet, the breadth and depth of data technologies used make app dev complex. Ensuring scalability, availability, and security without sacrificing functionality or ACID consistency adds to that complexity. Juan Loaiza explains how you can eliminate complexity by leveraging a complete and simple database strategy to build and run apps that can quickly adapt to challenges and opportunities.

Simplify Data and Event-Driven Microservices with Oracle’s Converged Database

Microservices have significant advantages, but data-driven and event-driven microservices create complexity that needs to be simplified. Oracle Database provides application and data services that are robust and simple for developing microservices. These include support for multiple languages, a variety of data types, exactly-once messaging guarantees, data integrity, and end-to-end observability using open standards. This session describes these with a real-world microservices example.

Moving a database to Oracle Exadata comes with the promise of transparent performance acceleration, regardless of workload. But what are these performance accelerators? How do they work, and how do you know if they are operating in your database? In this session, get expert insights into Exadata’s key performance features. You’ll also see how automatic workload reports (AWRs) can easily verify that you are getting the best out of your database on Exadata.

Deep Dive: Data Loading

Until you've tried real-world data loading, it's easy to underestimate how complicated it often used to be. Get tips and tricks for easily integrating data from Oracle E-Business Suite and SaaS applications using the latest technology.

Examining the Relationship Between Brain Activity and Video Game Performance

I recently uploaded my brain to the cloud by hacking a toy with an EEG chip that captures brain activity. Once the data was collected, I combined it with my video game performance to see if I perform better when I’m focused and worse when I’m distracted. This session will look at how I hacked the device, published data to the cloud, and combined it with my game stats. We’ll focus on the database interactions and SQL that was used to query and analyze the combined video game and brain data.

Never-Down Applications with Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture

Known for ensuring the highest levels of database availability, Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) has evolved to be a full-stack data protection solution. Protecting the database and the middle-tier, MAA also provides easy-to-implement solutions that prevent your application from being affected by failures in either layer. Attend this session to learn how easy it is to benefit from never-down applications with MAA.

Predict the Future (or Don’t) with Machine Learning in Applications

Niels Bohr once said, “Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future.” Machine learning has made data-driven prediction prevalent for enterprise applications. While building machine learning models is essential, making predictions—or using insights from models—in applications is equally important. Oracle Machine Learning supports these and more on database data. Join for code examples and demos of this exciting technology.

There are millions of data points tracked by F1 racing for every driver and every race. We’re going to take some of that data and bring it to life by developing an APEX app that incorporates rich interactive data reporting, visualizations, and more to deliver a world-class mobile experience.

Simplify Application Development with Oracle Real Application Clusters

Scalability and rapid recovery from failures are the hallmarks of modern applications, but meeting those expectations often involves writing additional code to detect and smoothly recover from failures. In this session, you’ll learn how to avoid writing such complicated failure detection logic by deploying applications on Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), allowing developers to focus on writing business logic and improving productivity.

Graph Analytics: From Zero to Hero

Did you know that graph analytics are seamlessly integrated in Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Database? In this session, we’ll explore the data landscape with graph analytics and uncover hidden relationships. We’ll also demonstrate graph analytics and its use cases, illustrating how it can be a game changer.

How to Write Powerful SQL That’s Easy to Maintain

SQL statements can be pages long and difficult to test and debug. But it doesn’t have to be like this! Oracle Database has many features that can help streamline your queries. From old favorites like the WITH clause to recent enhancements such as SQL macros, Oracle makes it easier than ever to write great SQL.

How to Evolve Your Database Applications Entirely Online

While building automated development pipelines is highly regarded by development teams, making changes to database schemas and stored procedures without interrupting application traffic is tricky. What if the database changes were both safe and online? This session examines unique Oracle Database features that allow for online data movement, schema redefinitions, table reorganizations, and, thanks to the integration with DevOps tools, controlling code versioning.

Store and Analyze JSON Data Using the Oracle API for MongoDB and SQL/JSON

Many developers like the MongoDB API for building applications. You can now use that same easy-to-use API against Oracle Autonomous Database. Simply bring your MongoDB application to Autonomous Database and inherit the security, availability, and manageability of the service. Plus, you can use Oracle SQL to analyze both your JSON collections and your relational data from your favorite SQL tools and applications. During this session, we will build a low-latency microservice using the Oracle API for MongoDB and then show how the backing collections can be queried directly using SQL.
