Prophecy International (ASX:PRO), an Adelaide-based global cybersecurity and business intelligence software provider, has migrated its entire VMware environment to the cloud using Oracle Cloud VMware Solution, eliminating the need to re-write applications.

This project builds on a long-standing relationship, with Prophecy realising a 1.7x performance improvement and up to 40 percent cost saving when it moved to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) from AWS in 2021 for the eMite SaaS solution. The Oracle Cloud VMware Solution further enables Prophecy to scale its cloud infrastructure as its business expands.

Known for its software products, which includes Snare – one of the few logging solution that pairs well with any Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) System or Security Analytics platform and is trusted by public and private sector organisations worldwide to meet evolving log management requirements including Zero Trust. As well as eMite - a global contact centre analytics solution that combines advanced analytics, data correlation, KPI management and threshold alerting into a single solution.

Moving to the cloud presented a growth opportunity for Prophecy and its existing SaaS applications. Also by migrating on-premises development environments to the cloud Prophecy can scale workloads as needed allowing employees to work from anywhere and access the resources they need, when they need them.

Leveraging the Oracle Cloud VMware Solution on OCI, Prophecy can now, in a few clicks, rapidly transpose its entire VMware estate to the cloud without any changes to established practices allowing the company to continue using its familiar VMware tools. In addition to providing increased scalability, and reduced operations costs from decommissioning its data centre, the solution has provided flexible on-demand disaster recovery, and seamless integration with out-of-the-box archival solutions. Overall, OCVS has improved Prophecy’s backup speed and restore speed making them 10-12 times faster. It has also improved recovery time to 12 hours, minimising risk including data loss.

The implementation has also helped to increase developer productivity, including problem solving and speed to market by cutting wait time in half and has reduced manual work and infrastructure management.

From here, Prophecy is planning to increase cloud scale and capacity, and extend cloud flexibility with data proximity.

Oracle Cloud Lift Services, available at no additional cost, provided extensive support for migration and setup for Prophecy. Additionally, as Oracle Cloud Lift Services runs in all 37 of Oracle’s global cloud regions, including Sydney and Melbourne, Prophecy has gained benefits of data proximity, high-performance, and has been able to comply with data sovereignty regulations.
