South Australia Government Selects Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP to Transform its Financial Processes

State government turns to Oracle to standardise its financial processes, increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve controls

Sydney, Australia—March 13, 2024

The South Australian Department of Treasury and Finance has selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to support its purpose of ensuring the State is thriving and prosperous now and into the future. With Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Fusion ERP Analytics, the South Australia Government will be able to standardise its financial processes and expand business insights to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve controls across 51 state agencies.

Through Shared Services South Australia (SSSA), the Department of Treasury and Finance provides payroll, accounting, and finance services to most South Australian Government agencies. SSSA handles more than three million invoices and produces 175 sets of financial statements each year. To improve accuracy and efficiency, adhere to changing legislative requirements and accounting standards, and further enhance audit controls, the Department needed to adopt a flexible cloud-based finance system.

“As part of the Department’s vision of being a World Class Treasury, we need to adopt new technology to accelerate digital transformation and deliver high quality financial services to our customers,” said Mark Carey, executive director of SSSA. “Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Fusion ERP Analytics provide capabilities that will help us improve the speed and accuracy of financial processes and expand business insights for decision-making and resource allocation.”

“We are excited to be working with the South Australia Government and support the organisation in its digital transformation journey,” said Meredith Rowan, vice president, Applications, Oracle, Australia and New Zealand. “With population and business growth on the horizon, the South Australia Government is adopting automation and touchless financial processes to deliver more value to its constituents.”
