Aster DM Healthcare, one of India’s largest hospital networks, serves millions of patients each year across more than 20 hospitals. The organization didn’t have the ability to centralize patient and financial data from multiple hospital information systems and Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP in real time, and storing and managing 190,000 product SKUs and 4.6 million data points in spreadsheets was causing duplication, delays, and inconsistent records. To address these challenges, the company built a master data management app on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Oracle Autonomous AI Database with Oracle APEX, a built-in low-code application development framework, in just two and a half months that centralized data and made it readily available to ERP and hospital information system applications. Additionally, Oracle REST Data Services APIs simplified the integration of Oracle Cloud ERP and health information systems by facilitating seamless data synchronization without custom coding. Aster also developed a workflow engine with complex multilevel approvals for better data governance and audit trails to help address data compliance requirements, which has helped reduce costs and allowed the healthcare provider to avoid dependency on external workflow tools.
