Major logistics provider connects global transport operations to boost support for carrier network and serve expanding market segmentsBUGGENUM, the Netherlands and AUSTIN, Texas —2 augustus 2021
Oracle today announced that Rooskens Group, the major Dutch logistics provider, has selected Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Management & Manufacturing (SCM), to support the company’s expansion and technology modernization.
Founded in 1988 as Rooskens Transport, Rooskens is a leading freight forwarder that conducts more than 25,000 transports a year across air, water and land in the Netherlands and internationally. The company has expanded significantly in the last years, requiring to revaluate how it manages its network operations so it can scale its services and serve a range of new market segments.
As part of a multi-year agreement, the Oracle implementation will enable Rooskens to automate business processes within its logistics network and optimize operations across multiple supply chain flows, modes of transport and geographic areas, helping it enhance the customer experience, better support its coordination and communication with carrier partners, and reduce freight and operational costs.
"Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and we are always looking at how we can help them solve today’s challenges, while asking ourselves the tough questions about what’s next," said Caroline Rooskens, general manager at Rooskens Group. "To uphold these values and ensure we are providing our customers and carriers the best possible solutions, we needed to rethink the way we were managing our business – and that’s why we selected Oracle. With Oracle Transportation Management, we have an industry-leading transportation management solution that will help us deliver on our vision to offer our customers the best logistics services and added value."
Oracle Transportation Management will provide Rooskens with a single integrated platform to enable it to manage each facet of its transportation operation more efficiently – from optimizing its logistics network to streamlining bids and orders, and building more effective shipping plans.
"Logistics providers like Rooskens are having to rethink their operating models as they diversify their business and face radically changing customer expectations. The global pandemic has vastly accelerated this process," said Edith Bevers, vice president of applications, Oracle Benelux. "Rooskens is a forward-thinker with a culture of innovation that has enabled it to lead in its market segments for years, and with Oracle Transportation Management it now has an integrated logistics management platform to support both its current and future needs."
