Oracle Cloud Native software and services help developers build cloud applications that rely on popular open source projects and specifications like Docker, Kubernetes, Fn Project, OpenAPI, Fluentd, CloudEvents, and GraalVM Native Image. These products provide DevOps teams with the freedom to develop and deploy cloud native applications using the languages, tools, frameworks, and infrastructure that best meet their needs.
Using services such as Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE), development teams can focus on building competitive features and spend less time installing, patching, and maintaining infrastructure. Integrations with GitLab, HashiCorp, Jenkins, GitHub, DataDog and many other partners enable DevOps engineers to continue using familiar tools as they adopt OCI.
Multicloud application deployment enables DevOps teams to optimize app performance for customers, spread operational risk across different providers, and get the best cloud quality of service. With projects such as Verrazzano Enterprise Container Platform, engineers can deploy and manage container workloads on-premises or in the cloud with minimal application changes.
AI services such as Oracle Digital Assistant, Language, and Speech enable developers to engage users across channels, build sentiment analysis, and enable audio-to-text conversion without machine learning expertise. With OCI Anomaly Detection and OCI Forecasting, end users can improve cost savings by flagging critical incidents sooner and predict a variety of metrics, inducing product demand, revenue, and resource requirements.
Make the transition to cloud native for the enterprise
Find out why developers are excited about using cloud native technologies to create the next generation of applications—and run them anywhere.
Oracle-managed services that run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE) is an open source-based container orchestration service. Customers can deploy Intel, AMD, and Arm-based Ampere virtual and bare metal worker nodes. The managed service supports auto scaling clusters and pods to reduce the time and cost to build modern cloud native applications.
OCI Container Registry is a Docker HTTP API v2-compliant registry for storing and sharing container images. It is tightly integrated with other OCI services such as Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes and Oracle Identity and Access Management. OCI Container Registry complements two other services: OCI Artifact Registry for storing noncontainer images and OCI Compute for storing compute images.
Functions as a service (FaaS) lets developers create, run, and scale serverless applications without managing any infrastructure. The service is interoperable with core OCI services, including OCI Streaming, OCI Events and OCI API Gateway. Functions is secured by Oracle Identity and Access Management.
Streaming service is a real-time, serverless, Apache Kafka-compatible event streaming platform for developers and data scientists. Streaming is tightly integrated with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Database, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle Integration and Migration. The service also provides out-of-the-box integrations for hundreds of third-party products across categories such as DevOps, databases, big data, and SaaS applications.
Events service tracks resource changes with events that are compliant with the CNCF CloudEvents standard. DevOps engineers can create rules to take action in real time by triggering Functions, writing to streams, or sending Notifications. The service provides APIs for integration with other Oracle IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS products.
Oracle API Management enables the complete API lifecycle for cloud native and SaaS applications, including Oracle Cloud HCM and Oracle Cloud ERP. It supports open standards, including OpenAPI specifications to allow for seamless integrations across Oracle and third-party applications.
OCI AI Services is a collection of pretrained machine learning models that developers can easily add to their applications and business operations. These models have been pretrained on business-oriented data such as images of manufacturing flaws or call center transcripts, and can be further custom-trained on an organization’s own business data for even more accurate results. With OCI AI Services, developers can add machine learning to their apps without slowing down application development.
With its Observability and Management Platform, Oracle provides visibility and machine learning-driven actionable insights to ease management across all layers of the stack deployed on any technology, anywhere. Oracle’s integrated functionality and automation for DevOps monitoring and IT operations management can make it 50% easier to prevent and solve IT problems. These services can improve IT efficiency, identify code level performance issues 10 times faster (PDF), and reduce IT complexity.
OCI Service Mesh is a free, Oracle-managed service that simplifies the development and operation of cloud native applications. It enables security, observability, and network traffic management—without requiring application changes.
Autonomous Database provides a fully autonomous, mission-critical Oracle Database service that runs all workloads, including OLTP, analytics, batch, JSON document, and IoT. It automatically scales, tunes, patches, and secures the database online using machine learning to provide the highest database availability, security, and performance. Elastic serverless architecture runs on extreme performance Exadata infrastructure and reduces capital costs.
Oracle MySQL HeatWave is a fully managed database service to quickly develop and deploy secure, cloud native applications. For database admins and application developers, it’s the only service that enables them to run OLTP and OLAP workloads directly from their MySQL database. This eliminates the need for the complex, time-consuming and expensive data movement and integration across OLTP and OLAP databases. This service is complemented by other database offerings on OCI, including Oracle Autonomous Database and Marketplace products.
