Define and Collaborate on Key Business Drivers with New KPI Management Capability

Why Are We Building This?
NOTE: This capability is planned for a new product to be introduced in the future.

Today’s managers are overwhelmed with data, so focusing on metrics that matter is becoming increasingly challenging. Managing by exception requires smart systems that can provide confidence in the numbers and an understanding the relationship of key metrics between one another. Unfortunately, most analytics systems don’t provide this intelligence. Which means that managers spend far too much time sifting through dozens of operational metrics and far too little time developing plans to respond to the insights.

What is integrated KPI management?

The new KPI management capabilities in Oracle Analytics will shorten the insight-to-action time frame for managers by simplifying access and visibility into the key drivers and performance metrics of the organization. Managers across all lines of business will be able to define metrics, set intelligent alerts, start discussion threads, and benchmark performance against targets, prior performance, or peer groups—without engaging IT or downloading data to desktop tools.

The KPI builder will enable business analysts to easily construct, configure, and publish KPIs across the organization so managers have a consistent view of operational performance. Each KPI can have a unique set of dimensions, targets, thresholds, related metrics, and default visualization. To simplify collaboration and communication, the KPI builder allows analysts to organize the KPIs into decks for monitoring specific issues or opportunities.

How does this benefit you, the customer?

The new KPI management capabilities in Oracle Analytics will provide clear visibility into key drivers and their relationship to business outcomes so that you can better align resources to meet organizational goals. Business analysts will be able to define, share, and publish KPIs for greater collaboration and efficiency.
