VPAT® Version 2.0 - October 2017
Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher is a reporting solution to author, manage, and deliver reports and documents.
Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher consists primarily of an HTML interface usable through a web browser. In addition there are Add-ins to Microsoft Word (BI Publisher Template Builder for Word) and to Microsoft Excel (BI Publisher Template Builder for Excel) to help with the tasks of creating RTF and Excel templates respectively.
To create accessible reports, manually create an RTF layout following the guidance in the "Designing Accessible Reports" section of the BI Publisher Report Designer's Guide. HTML is the supported output type for consuming accessible reports.
The Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher web/HTML interface provides an Accessibility Mode that can be enabled by setting the user preference "Accessible Mode" to On. With Accessible Mode On:
-- Tables in the UI will show check-boxes to enable multi-row selection and subsequent action
-- Menus have been tested to work with assistive technology
-- "Skip to content" is enabled.
-- The Report Wizard is bypassed and users are prompted to select Data Model when creating a report
-- The Administration link is not displayed
This VPAT applies to only version 12.2.1.1. It does not apply to any versions of Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher after this. This VPAT has been superseded by Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher 12.2.4.0.0.
Allows Administrator to configure or edit Server level configurations.
Allows report author to create a report using a Wizard when selecting "Guide Me" option. This is an optional UI to create a report using wizard that leads to Layout Editor, which is not covered by this VPAT.
A design tool that provides a WYSIWIG, drag and drop interface for creating pixel perfect reports in PDF, RTF, Excel, PowerPoint, and HTML. It also provides dynamic HTML output that supports lightweight interaction through a browser.
As an alternative, use BI Publisher Desktop tool (Template Builder) that uses MS Word Plugin to help design RTF template layout. Create an RTF template layout following the guidance in the "Designing Accessible Reports" section of the BI Publisher Report Designer's Guide.
BI Publisher documentation is available in HTML and PDF format at http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/12211/bip/
A user can set "Accessibility Mode" to ON under the user preferences in the General tab of the My Account dialog
