Conformance Level
Remarks and Explanations
1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A)Supports with Exceptions

The product was tested for:

  • Images that convey information have meaningful alternative text using ALT.
  • Images that are decorative are marked up using ALT=”” or CSS background images.

EXCEPTIONS:

Most functional images have ALT attributes, and most of those that do not have another attribute such as title which describes the image. The following images are missing the ALT attribute:

  • 18673362: Close a dialog
  • 14372982: Manage Preferences wizard: move left, move right, move all left, move all right, maximize, combo box arrow
  • 14361796: Show/hide splitter image
  • 14366793: Close, Search, scroll left, scroll right, minimize, maximize, and restore

Decorative images that have an ALT attribute:

  • 18339220: A vertical squiggle in the tab bar. Its alt text is based on the name of the open module
1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded) (Level A)Not ApplicableThe product has no multimedia.
1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded) (Level A)Not ApplicableThe product has no multimedia.
1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded) (Level A)Not ApplicableThe product has no multimedia.
1.2.4 Captions (Live) (Level AA)Not ApplicableThe product has no multimedia.
1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded) (Level AA)Not ApplicableThe product has no multimedia.
1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • User interface component labels are associated with the fields they are labeling
  • Headings are encoded with HTML heading tags
  • Table markup is used for marking up data tables, including row and column headers and table captions/summaries where appropriate
  • Data tables specify SUMMARY or CAPTION
  • Layout tables use appropriate markup
  • Style sheets are used only to change the layout and presentation on the screen
1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence(Level A)Supports

The Product was tested for:

  • The sequence of elements in the DOM matches a logical reading sequence.
1.3.3 Sensory Characteristics(Level A)Supports

The Product was tested for:

  • Instructions provided do not refer to things solely based on their sensory characteristics such as shape, size, visual location, orientation, color, or sound.
1.4.1 Use of Color(Level A)Supports

The Product was tested for:

  • Information is not conveyed using color.
1.4.2 Audio Control(Level A)Not ApplicableThe product has no multimedia.
1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) (Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Large-scale text and images of large-scale text have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1
  • All other text and images of text have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1
1.4.4 Resize text(Level AA)Not Supported

The Product was tested for:

  • 9313289: Screen magnifier programs are preferred over browser based "Zoom" and "Text Size" features, as they may produce undesirable results. Text resizing causes misalignment of grids and tree views.

1.4.5 Images of Text(Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • No Instances of Images as text
2.1.1 Keyboard(Level A)Supports with Exceptions

The product was tested for:

  • Ability to perform functions from the keyboard only, and without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes
  • Consistent use of keyboard keys to perform selection and action
  • Menu items have unique shortcut selection characters
  • Hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts available to skip elements

EXCEPTIONS:

  • 7125276: While in screen-reader mode, if the focus is inside a text field, pressing the Home or End keys does not move the cursor to the beginning or end of the text field.
  • 18225100: When a dialog is open, pressing the F10 key will move focus to the menus behind the dialog, but the key should be ignored while a dialog is open.
  • 18225028: When a dialog is open and screen reader support is enabled, pressing the Ctrl-L shortcut will not activate the list of links dialog, but will instead open Internet Explorer's Open dialog.
  • 16288711 and 20238121: The Windows application key or Shift-F10 shortcut brings up the context menu for the columns in the grids, not the context menu for the items which has the focus. The main menu can be used to operate on objects selected in the repository.
  • 9278978: Top level Workspace menus can be accessed using the Alt key and the letter associated with that menu. Once the menu is opened the Alt key is not necessary and should not be used to access menu items included in the menu currently open. User should only press the letter associated with the submenu item desired. Example of a correct item selection:  Alt-F opens File menu, "N" is all that is needed to select the New menu item under File menu.
  • 10170614: The global navigation shortcut "F10" to move the focus to the first menu in the menu bar may not work in some browsers if the current focus is inside a combobox list.  Once the user moves focus out of the combobox, "F10" works correctly.
  • 12857511: In Mozilla Firefox, when the focus is inside an iframe, the Alt-X or Ctrl-X key commands are not functional. To work around, use Alt+Shift+X. This will select the menu, and the arrow keys can be used to expand the menus and select an item. Pressing the space bar or Enter will activate the menu item. Another workaround is to switch focus out of the iframe by pressing Ctrl-Shift-F6, then enter the key command.
  • 19851685: Accelerator keys for buttons intermittently do not work. The workaround is to press Tab until the focus moves to the button, then press Enter to activate the button.
  • 29815969: In the Edit Permissions dialog, the arrow keys only allow the focus to move in the first page of results. Moving to last page of results requires using the End key.
  • 29816061: After selecting an item in Explore and activating the context menu, focus moves to the first item in the list rather than staying with the most recently selected item.
2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap (Level A)Supports with Exceptions

The product was tested for:

  • Movement of focus through each control only using the keyboard, with no "keyboard trap" that prevents focus from moving away from any control.

EXCEPTIONS:

  • 11742052: In some dialogs, the accelerator keys may need to be pressed twice.
  • 15935647: In some circumstances, the focus will not move to the toolbar using Shift-Tab. The workaround is to press Ctrl-T to move focus to the toolbar.

2.2.1 Timing Adjustable(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • The only time limit is for user inactivity. This time limit can be adjusted to at least 10 times longer before being encountered.

2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide (Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • No Auto-Updating
  • No moving, blinking, or scrolling information
2.3.1 Three Flashes or Below Threshold(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • No portion of the screen flickers or flashes with a frequency between 2 Hz and 55 Hz
2.4.1 Bypass Blocks(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Keyboard shortcuts to skip repetitive navigation links are documented.
2.4.2 Page Titled(Level A)Supports

The Product was tested for:

  • Titles on pages.
  • Titles for nested Iframes within.
2.4.3 Focus Order(Level A)Supports with Exceptions

The product was tested for:

  • Logical movement through the focusable components using only the keyboard, in an order that follows a meaningful sequence

EXCEPTIONS:

  • 18354320: When using Mozilla Firefox, the focus can move to the browser's Address bar, which is not intuitive.
  • 8564952: Components that are in a disabled state are not focusable.
  • 18720095: The tab order in the Explore module's grid is not intuitive. The focus moves from the Process Bar (which shows the path) then to the Maximize button, and then to the first row in the table (skipping the column headers). After all the rows in the table, the focus moves to the column headers and then to the Help link at the top of the page.
  • 19869279: Unable to move focus in the menu bar, when no content is opened in workspace.
  • 20286551: Disabled menu items are not announced by screen readers.
2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context)(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • The text of links and their surrounding paragraph, list, table cell (with marked up table headers), or preceding heading is sufficient to describe their purpose.
2.4.5 Multiple Ways(Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Searching documents using a search box.
2.4.6 Headings and Labels(Level AA)Supports

  • Headers describe the topic or purpose of the content below them
  • Labels describe the purpose of the associated field
2.4.7 Focus Visible(Level AA)Supports with Exceptions

The product was tested for:

  • Visual indication of the location of the focus

EXCEPTIONS:

  • 18315358: When using Mozilla Firefox, the focus may not be visible in the beginning of a user's session. The focus will eventually appear and remain visible if the user continues to remain logged on.
3.1.1 Language of Page(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Properly set lang attribute for each page.
3.1.2 Language of Parts(Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Proper use of lang attribute for text passages that are in a different language than that of the page.
3.2.1 On Focus(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • When an element receives focus, it does not result in a substantial change to the page, an additional change of keyboard focus, or the spawning of a pop-up window.
3.2.2 On Input(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Changes in the value of user interface components does not result in a substantial change to the page, an additional change of keyboard focus, or the spawning of a pop-up window.
3.2.3 Consistent Navigation(Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Pages that are grouped together into sets with a common navigation mechanism utilize that navigation mechanism in the same fashion, with navigation elements appearing in the same relative order each time.
3.2.4 Consistent Identification(Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Meaningful icon/image/object identification including object state change on selection (e.g., folder open on selection).
3.3.1 Error Identification(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • When input errors are detected, they are described to the user in text, including identifying the item where the error occurred.
3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Labels or instructions are provided when the product requires user input.
3.3.3 Error Suggestion (Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Where suggestions for fixing an input error are known, they are provided to the user.
3.3.4 Error Prevention (Legal, Financial, Data)(Level AA)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Workspace doesn’t have legal commitments or financial transactions. The product is only for user preferences. User preference changes are reversible by the end user.
4.1.1 Parsing(Level A)Supports

The product was tested for:

  • Elements in HTML content have complete start and end tags, are properly nested, do not contain duplicate attributes, and have unique IDs
4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (Level A)Supports with Exceptions

The product was tested for:

  • HTML controls have a programmatically associated name, derived from the appropriate HTML elements and attributes including LABEL, TITLE, SUMMARY, CAPTION, etc.
  • Additional state information is programmatically exposed for HTML controls, such as whether a field is ‘required’.
  • Custom controls have a meaningful programmatically exposed name
  • Frames have a meaningful title specified in the title attribute

EXCEPTIONS:

  • 18720139: In the Explore module, column headers in the table are not announced by screen readers.
  • 7298707: When a dialog opens, its title is not always voiced by screen readers because the focus may change from the dialog's title to the dialog's first focusable item.
  • 8979574: Workspace menus once open are navigable using arrow keys. This is announced by accessibility tools when menus are opened. Sometimes this navigation hint is voiced only after the user begins navigating inside the menu.
  • 20071526: In the File Open dialog, items in the "Type" combo box are not read by screen readers.
  • 21933281: If a dialog has mandatory fields, screen readers announce the field label, but they won't read that field is mandatory.
  • 29822005: In the Import File dialog, after shifting focus from the list of tasks on the left, screen readers may not read the contents of the section on the right.
