Outsource Management Services (OMS) is provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions specializing in workforce productivity. Its flagship product, Vitesse, is a cloud-based labor management application designed for the warehousing and logistics industry, and provides in-depth visibility into the performance of each activity and process.
When the business was established, OMS looked for a cloud vendor that could help the company get the Vitesse application up and running fast. As an organization with no IT infrastructure, OMS wanted to focus on building its application without worrying about data center complexity.
Since its launch in 2017, the Vitesse application has amassed a retail client list that includes Unipart, B&M stores, PrettyLittleThing, Boohoo, Screwfix, Wincanton, JD Williams, and Primark.

OMS selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services over Amazon Web Services RDS and other competing cloud platforms. OMS found AWS to be limited in scalability and high in potential overhead costs. Oracle Cloud services would enable OMS to get its product to market quickly with less CPUs, staff, and complexity.
Oracle Autonomous Database and its low-code development platform Oracle Application Express (APEX) gave OMS the agility to move from a rough prototype to a viable product with clients in less than 12 months.
Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) hosts the Vitesse application for on-demand access in the Oracle public cloud, allowing for instant scaling to meet large transactional volumes. Oracle APEX is used to produce reports for Vitesse clients using data held in Oracle Autonomous Database.
Oracle REST Data Services handle the transfer of customer data into Vitesse via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), including connections to OMS’s warehouse management and timesheet and attendance systems. Because OMS is built using Oracle ATP in the Oracle public cloud, new servers can be provisioned in a matter of minutes, complete with multitenancy and Oracle Row-Level Security.
Additionally, OCI’s built-in security has helped OMS maintain compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards in the UK.
Going forward, OMS is exploring the use of machine learning to identify and solve warehouse inefficiencies as part of its commitment to help warehousing and logistics businesses operate more intelligently.
