Business challenges

Up Sí Vale is a leading provider of payment and other financial services to 16,000 companies and 5 million consumers across Mexico. Its services include payment tickets for food, travel, and fuel as well as prepaid cards, digital wallets, and loyalty programs.

Up Sí Vale needed to adopt advanced software tools to centralize information and streamline data analysis in order to learn more about its diverse sets of customers—but it wanted to do so quickly and with minimal disruption to its operations.

Why Up Sí Vale chose Oracle

Up Sí Vale chose Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse and Oracle Analytics—an integrated suite of advanced cloud-based data management tools—in part because they were easy to set up, implement, and integrate with other applications, and operate without database administration. The Oracle Cloud tools gave the company faster, more efficient, and accurate data reporting and analysis. 

Up Sí Vale found that the combination of Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse and Oracle Analytics provided more flexibility, higher performance, and better integration with its applications than Snowflake did.

Results

Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse consolidated data management of 240 million transactions from 10 sources, eliminating 90% of the time Up Sí Vale spent on database administration. The cloud-based database, implemented companywide within three months, can be set up in less than 5 minutes. It  autoscales on demand, accommodating the company’s 40% ecommerce growth since the start of COVID-19 pandemic.  

Oracle Analytics eliminated 75% of the time it took Up Sí Vale to assemble data in spreadsheets, allowing for more strategic customer segmentation and personalized marketing. Now the Up Sí Vale sales team can take a more proactive approach with customers, helping the company reduce churn from 15% to 5%.

Additionally, Up Sí Vale shortened its financial month-end close process to about 1 hour from at least 3 days, while improving data security and producing more accurate busines results.

The platform almost runs by itself. It allows us to manage the business without too much effort.
