Oracle Customer Spotlight with JASCI: Running Fast and Smart

Join a candid conversation with JASCI Software’s CEO and hear how they achieved 100x faster performance using Oracle Autonomous Database.

What Is Oracle Autonomous Database?

Oracle Autonomous Database is a family of self-driving, self-securing, and self-repairing cloud services. It’s the world’s first autonomous database, and it redefines database management by using machine learning and automation to eliminate human labor, human error, and manual tuning, reducing cost and complexity and ensuring higher reliability, security, and more operational efficiency. Autonomous Database supports a complex mix of high-performance transactions, including reporting, batch, Internet of Things (IoT), and machine learning in a single database. This simplifies application development and deployment and enables real-time analytics, personalization, and fraud detection.

Autonomous Database Products

Oracle Autonomous Database is available exclusively from Oracle and is offered in two configurations, both of which are optimized to meet the specialized requirements for online transaction processing and data warehousing. Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing Service allows much simpler application development and deployment for enabling real-time analytics, personalization, and fraud detection. Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse delivers unprecedented reliability, performance, and highly elastic data management, enabling data warehouse deployment in seconds. Both Autonomous Transaction Processing and Autonomous Data Warehouse are available in Shared Infrastructure and Dedicated forms—the Shared Infrastructure service focuses on simplicity and elasticity, while the Dedicated service provides customers with a customizable private database cloud. Both are also now available on Exadata Cloud@Customer.

Benefits of Oracle Autonomous Database

Reduce Costs

Speed Time to Market

Complete automation of database and infrastructure operations cuts administrative costs by up to 80 percent. The efficiency of a self-optimizing database together with elastic pay-per-use cuts runtime costs by up to 90 percent.

Reduce Risk

Eliminate Vulnerabilities

Automatic application of the latest security updates with no downtime eliminates cyberattack vulnerabilities. Protection from all types of downtime, including system failures, maintenance, user errors, and changes to the application data model.

Innovate More

Administrate Less

Eliminating database maintenance frees database administrators and app developers to add more value to the business. Integrated machine learning algorithms enable the development of applications that perform real-time predictions such as personalized shopping and fraud detection.

Deploy Anywhere

Maximize Flexibility

Customers are empowered to deploy workloads using Autonomous Database in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or on-premises with Exadata Cloud@Customer, based on their data residency, regulatory and latency requirements.

How It Works

Eliminate manual database management

Provisions mission critical, scale-out database on Oracle Exadata Infrastructure. Automates patching, upgrades, and tuning without human intervention or downtime. Users can instantly create new autonomous databases and easily convert existing databases, dramatically reducing costs and time to market. Instant scaling of compute and storage online as needed. Integrated machine learning algorithms enable the development of applications that perform real-time predictions to drive capabilities such as personalized shopping and fraud detection.

Automatic, in-depth protection at all levels

Automatically applies security updates online, ensuring protection from known cyberattacks. Encrypts all data whether it’s at rest or in flight. It also prevents any administrators from snooping on sensitive application data. Oracle Database Vault prevents administrators from snooping on user data. Oracle Data Safe helps you identify sensitive data and mask it for use in partner or development environments—alerting on risky users and system configurations, and monitoring database activity to let you quickly discover suspicious attempts to access data.

Always-on availability for application and database

Automatically protects from all types of downtime, including system failures, maintenance, user errors, and changes to the application data model.
