New center will augment fast, effective support across the EuropeAUSTIN, TX and BARCELONA, Spain —October 20, 2023
Oracle today opened a new Health Support Hub in Barcelona. With this new facility, Oracle will be able to better serve the needs of its European customers as they modernize their healthcare systems to help improve patient outcomes and care. The new Support Hub joins existing Oracle Health support centers around the world providing a tiered, full-service support experience to help customers solve their most complex issues with technical expertise and advanced automation.
The European Oracle Health Support Hub will feature a team of more than 60 service representatives and professionals. They will focus on serving customers and guiding them as they design their systems to meet strict data residency and protection regulations per region. With the center’s 24/7 support services and review of customer systems and applications, the Support Hub will also help customers prevent incidents and reduce time to recovery as needed.
“Our goal is to accelerate new innovations and connect the healthcare ecosystem to improve patient and provider experiences and add value from the bedside to the back-office,” said Travis Dalton, EVP and general manager, Oracle Health. “By establishing this new European Support Hub, we can further meet the evolving requirements of our current and prospective customers as they continue to digitize their systems for the betterment of their patients and staff.”
Pere Aragonès, President, Catalonia Government, José Manuel Miñones, Minister of Health, Government of Spain, and Jordi Valls, Vice Mayor, Barcelona City Council, joined Oracle Health leaders in an inauguration event for the European Oracle Health Support Hub opening.
"Catalonia is among the top 2% of European territories in terms of its infrastructure, its innovative capacity, and the attraction of business investment. Oracle's commitment to Barcelona confirms that digital health sciences are fundamental and strategic for our country. We celebrate the company's commitment, investment in the territory, and the creation of highly qualified jobs. We are convinced that the opportunities and synergies in this new digital health hub will have a positive impact and return for people, the environment, and society", said Pere Aragonès, President, Catalonia Government.
From his side, José Manuel Miñones, Minister of Health, Government of Spain, explained that “the COVID-19 pandemic showed us the importance of data in public health decision-making. A reality that has led us to commit to a Digital Health Strategy, to which we are allocating more than 800 million euros from 2021, and which has been reinforced, precisely, with the approval this Tuesday of the addendum to the Recovery and Resilience Plan by the ECOFIN. The strategy is, above all, an instrument for the collaborative work of the autonomous communities for the benefit of the health of all citizens and of the National Health System as a whole. Consequently, the installation in Spain of a Hub such as Oracle's is a great opportunity for the creation of highly specialised employment and the establishment of an ecosystem of digital innovation in health, which is undoubtedly great news”.
And Jordi Valls, Vice Mayor, Barcelona City Council, stated that the city “welcome the ‘Europe Oracle Health Support Hub’, a great bet that, in addition to bringing qualified and quality employment, significantly strengthens Barcelona's position as a reference cluster in technology and life sciences and health, at country and southern European level. Today, we are consolidating an alliance that will help us make sure that innovation, science, and health are prominent protagonists of the present and future of Barcelona, both through the impetus of the public sector and through private sector investments, with centers like this one, where we are today. A city with more science and more health, equals a society with more and better opportunities for everyone".
