Global leader of refractory industry deploys Oracle Fusion Cloud Transportation Management to run logistics operations more efficiently, reduce freight costs, and optimize service levelsROTTERDAM, the Netherlands and AUSTIN, Texas—February 8, 2022
Oracle today announced that RHI Magnesita, the world’s leading supplier of refractory products, has selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Transportation Management, part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), to support the company’s expansion and technology modernization.
Following the implementation, RHI Magnesita’s shipping locations will run on one unified transport management system covering all aspects of its logistics processes. The selection of Oracle Transportation Management will enable the company to reduce costs, optimize service levels, and automate processes so that it can run its logistics operations even more efficiently.
With its headquarters in Vienna, its Global Supply Chain organization in Rotterdam, and 28 main production sites around the world that ship to customers in more than 100 countries, RHI Magnesita is a global force. Given its scale and expanding presence, the company needed to re-evaluate how it manages its logistics processes to increase the flexibility and efficiency of its operations, rapidly scale its services, and serve new market segments. RHI Magnesita selected Oracle Transportation Management for its built-in flexibility and configurability to support complex processes for all transport modes.
Oracle Transportation Management will enable RHI Magnesita to automate business processes within its logistics network and optimize operations across multiple supply chain flows and operating markets, helping improve customer experiences and reduce freight and operational costs. The company will benefit from one unified logistics platform that enables it to manage each facet of its transport operations more efficiently – from transport planning and execution, to transport event management, to freight invoice settlement and business analytics.
“The global trade and logistics landscape has changed dramatically and continues to evolve. More than ever, we need to be resilient and operate with maximum flexibility in order to adapt our services, scale our business, and stay competitive. Oracle Transportation Management gives us the tools we need to automate our processes so that we can run our logistics more efficiently while reducing costs, and maintaining end-to-end visibility of our operations so that we can bring our customer experience to the next level," said Simone Oremovic, Executive Vice President of People, Projects & Value Chain at RHI Magnesita.
"Industrial suppliers like RHI Magnesita are having to rethink their operating models as they diversify their businesses, while faced with the challenges of an ever-uncertain operating environment and strained global supply chains," said Monic van Aarle, VP Applications Benelux at Oracle. "As a forward-thinker with a culture of innovation that has enabled it to lead its market for years, RHI Magnesita began this process well before the current crisis. With Oracle Transportation Management, it will have an integrated logistics management platform to help improve operating efficiency and support the company’s current and future needs."
