Rusty serves B2C marketing professionals. His research focuses on enterprise marketing technologies, including cross-channel campaign management, marketing resource management, and real-time interaction management. Rusty helps organizations ensure that their marketing technology investments underpin strategies to meet evolving customer expectations and align with overall business technology investments to win, serve, and retain customers.
Previous Work Experience
Rusty has more than 30 years' experience in marketing and customer analytics, product management and product marketing, marketing leadership, and strategic planning. Before joining Forrester, Rusty was senior vice president of marketing for SDL's Campaign Management and Analytics Division (Alterian), focused on solutions for marketing automation, customer analytics, campaign management, and email marketing. Prior to SDL, Rusty was with NCR and Teradata for 22 years in both the US and Europe. As head of marketing for Teradata’s EMEA operations, he built a "virtual" team to ensure effective marketing execution across 25 countries, with responsibility for all internal and external marketing activities, customer communications and events, press and analyst relations, joint marketing with partners, product marketing, program deployment, and sales enablement. He also has extensive global consulting and sales support experience based on customer engagements in 45 countries, with particular emphasis on EMEA.
Rusty graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. In addition to being a National Merit Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Phi Omega, and Phi Gamma Delta, he was WVU's Mr. Mountaineer (outstanding senior) and Outstanding Greek Man (top fraternity senior). Rusty relocated to the United Kingdom in 1996 and holds dual American and British citizenship.
Nataly Avila is the head of global digital transformation at TIGI and the head of marketing at TIGI Americas. As a marketing professional with 16 years of experience in the salon professional beauty space, Nataly has made it her life’s work to help hairdressers. During her career, she has ideated and launched numerous products, campaigns, and programs in the sales, marketing, education, and customer service spaces. While working for both large corporate businesses and small entrepreneurial brands, she has executed physical and digital marketing campaigns. Nataly delivers success to the business and to the customers she serves—always coming from a place of authentic leadership, transparency, and storytelling. Most recently, Nataly’s work has focused on digitally transforming a historically analog business with a multiyear plan that includes a comprehensive B2B ecommerce strategy, an affiliate D2C pilot program, and a digital education plan that maximizes the power of technology without compromising the spirit of an industry based largely on relationship and touch.
As the Senior Director of CRM and Loyalty, Lisa leads the development, execution, and management of Sleep Number’s Loyalty program, the InnerCircle Rewards Program, as well as all customer communications via direct mail, email, and SMS. Lisa is responsible for the overall success and ongoing growth and management of these programs. She directs the testing of all programs to ensure continued evolution and growth. She is responsible for the InnerCircle Rewards Program member engagement and program profitability. Leveraging her deep experience in retail, holding positions in merchandising, finance, strategic and promotional planning, and marketing, she can activate new initiatives quickly and successfully. Lisa is constantly striving to take the InnerCircle Rewards program and all customer communications to the next level of engagement. Prior to joining Sleep Number, Lisa held management positions at Best Buy and the Department Store Division of Target Corporation. She is born and bred in Minnesota, living their all her life and earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in Retail Merchandising and Business.
Hannah Kranich is a metrics driven, tech-curious marketer with over two decades of experience driving growth for B2B and B2C companies. As Director of Demand Generation for Dow Jones’ Business Information and Services division, she is focused on helping the marketing and sales teams generate pipeline and revenue, while bringing data to life in meaningful ways. Over the past 2 and a half years, Hannah has overhauled Dow Jones’ inbound and outbound marketing efforts and brought on new technologies to help the team identify companies that are most likely to become customers. Outside of work, Hannah can be found spending time with her husband and her three children on Roosevelt Island in NYC.
Mia McPherson is the senior manager of content marketing strategy at Oracle and leads a talented team responsible for Oracle Advertising and Customer Experience-related media properties including the Oracle Advertising Blog, the Oracle CX Blog, and the Oracle Modern Marketing blog. Mia has had the pleasure of interviewing more than 100 advertising and CX leaders virtually and live, including for an award-winning Women in Tech video series. Before her career in tech, Mia worked in fiction and children’s book publishing, is a two-time published author, and has edited more than 50 novels. Mia holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and an MBA from The Ohio State University and, more importantly, holds the title of mom to an adorable 9-month-old boy and a 4-year-old cat.
