Making the Move to Digital Sales: Your Buyer Has Changed... Has Your Sales Approach?

Customer trust has eroded and today’s buyers are immune to sales pitches. They are independent and self-directed, preferring to buy even complex, high-value goods and services digitally. This means your army of expensive sales reps are out of the loop until the customer has nearly made a decision. What’s the value of your sales force then? Do they become overpriced order takers? In fact, Forrester estimates that 1 million sales reps will be displaced by 2020.

The shift to digital sales and B2B commerce is accelerating. Modern sellers must learn new skills and be better informed, as they shift from traditional "pitchmen" to trusted advisors who can add value at different points in the customer journey. Companies are also getting smarter about sales processes and operations, and homing in on how data and intelligence flows from marketing to sales and beyond.

Customer Data as a Strategic Advantage

Your organization is being challenged by skyrocketing customer expectations. Whether you’re running a B2B or B2C business, whether you’re in retail, telecom, banking or manufacturing—your customers expect personalized, contextual and efficient experiences like those offered by giants like Amazon, Apple, and Starbucks or even the startups disrupting your industry.

The key to a winning customer experience strategy is effective management of customer data. Customer data is more than just address and contact information though. Leading organizations are integrating digital, social, smart device, and survey data across marketing, sales, commerce and service. They are applying artificial intelligence to this rich dataset to optimize digital and employee-assisted customer interaction.

Join us for a roundtable discussion with your executive peers on best practices in customer data optimization and artificial intelligence.

Subscription Businesses 2.0: Transitioning to a Recurring Relationship Model

A majority of millennials prefer access and experiences to owning material possessions that add complexity to their lives. They value flexibility, choice, and convenience and will experiment freely with goods and services, switching easily with no attachment or barriers.

This new brand of consumerism paved the way for the gig economy and the sharing economy, and also made consumer subscription services wildly popular. B2B companies are now jumping on this huge opportunity, launching subscriptions for complex goods and services. But selling a subscription to an MRI machine or a jet engine is a bit trickier.
