Oracle automated tools make it seamless to move your on-premises database to Oracle Cloud with virtually no downtime. Oracle Database Cloud Service uses the same standards, products, and skills you currently use on premises, making it easy to move database workloads to the public cloud. You can maintain control and gain better efficiency with unified management over your on-premises and cloud environment.
You can migrate your on-premises Oracle Database to Oracle Database Cloud using a variety of methods and tools. Not all migration methods apply to every migration scenario. Some of the characteristics and factors to consider when choosing a migration method include the Oracle Database version used on premises and in the cloud; the on-premises host operating system and version; database character set; quantity of data, including indexes; data types used; any storage for data staging; acceptable length of system outage; and network bandwidth. Use this information as your guide to see which migration methods apply to your specific migration container or non-container database (CDB or non-CDB) scenario.
