Tel Aviv, Israel—13 March 2023Internet domain-name and Web site hosting company Box.co.il is taking advantage of the security, performance, and reliability provided by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to help it win new business and better compete with larger vendors in the region.
Box helps small businesses gain and manage an online presence, selling domain registration, Web site hosting, e-mail, and other internet services to thousands of Israeli customers. The company, one of three domain-name resellers in Israel, stands out with its competitive prices aimed at stores, salons, restaurants, and other small businesses. Box also offers dedicated, private server space on OCI for its customers with the most demanding performance and uptime needs.
As the company grew and began testing the limits of its computers’ performance and availability, Box’s homegrown infrastructure struggled to meet the demands of an expanding customer base. To help ensure it could build business momentum and exceed customers’ expectations, Box decided to migrate from its own data center to running its business on OCI.
“By moving from on-premises infrastructure to OCI, we can scale in ways that were previously impossible while giving our customers better performance and availability so they can focus on their businesses,” said Box CEO Shlomi Kakon. “OCI lets us build a compelling portfolio of offerings for businesses that require the highest quality cloud services available.” The company is realizing robust computing uptime and chose OCI over competitors’ clouds because of excellent hardware and software engineering support it gets from Oracle, Kakon said.
Israeli businesses of all sizes are running on OCI, using the platform to achieve performance gains, cost savings, and uptime.
“Box’s deployment is yet more proof that both large companies and small upstarts, from Web hosting to energy, large-scale retail, and infectious disease research, can turn to Oracle for the comprehensive and integrated infrastructure and applications they need to thrive,” said Eran Feigenbaum, Oracle senior vice president and Israel country head.
The Box team chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for its quality and level of service after considering offerings from local vendors. Kfir Dekel, Israel technology consulting lead for Oracle, said, “Oracle Israel’s consulting team provides Box and other businesses a proven, automated way to move to the cloud and keep up with the latest technologies. That gives our customers a better, easier way to achieve their business goals.”
