Dedicating most of his career to hospitality with experience as an operator and a technology provider, Alex joined Oracle in November 2019 to lead the technical, operational, and cultural transformation of the industry’s leading provider of property management, point of sale, distribution, analytics, and loyalty solutions. The start of his tenure coincided with Oracle’s debut of it’s next-generation suite of cloud solutions, which achieved early acclaim and is experiencing rapid adoption among the world’s most-renowned hotel brands. Adhering to the pillars of service orientation, innovation, and execution precision, Alex and the Oracle Hospitality team are focused on powering exceptional guest experiences. With more than 20 years in the travel and hospitality industries, Alex spearheaded global development and strategy for renowned luxury operator Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, led Sabre’s Hospitality Solutions business, and served industry clients as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. He has established a track record of growing and scaling businesses and delivering innovative technology solutions underpinned by a customer-centric service and support model. Alex, who earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA from the University of Texas, is passionate about hospitality technology and has been a featured presenter at multiple industry and customer conferences. He is married with two children and enjoys cycling, tennis, and all things outdoors.

Nor1’s PRiME Applied AI Platform, the first of its kind in the industry, leverages a variety of optimization and machine learning approaches to create customized guest offers that simultaneously solve for pricing, inventory management and merchandising.

Since Oracle Hospitality’s acquisition of Nor1 in early 2021, Jason continues to lead and manage Nor1’s Strategic GTM strategies with an ongoing focus of continuing to drive data science innovation, products and education to the hospitality industry.

Laura Calin

Laura Calin is the VP of Strategy and Solutions Management for Oracle Hospitality. Responsible for charting the direction of Oracle Hospitality’s cloud services and solution portfolio for the Hotels, Casinos and Cruise verticals, Laura oversees all product management and go-to-market strategies. An acclaimed industry leader, she has 25 years of experience in hospitality, product management and global business development. Laura began her career at MICROS/Oracle as a member of the development team and played an instrumental role in bringing the Opera Enterprise Suite of products to market and orchestrated its global expansion to more than 180 countries. During her tenure at MICROS/Oracle, Laura has held leadership positions in an array of fields, including development, product management, consulting, operations and sales engineering. She is an alumnus of the West University of Timisoara, Romania, where she earned a master’s degree in mathematics and IT.

Tom Coulthurst

Tom Coulthurst is responsible for Product Strategy and Solutions Management at Oracle Hospitality. This role includes the Oracle Hospitality business strategy for distribution including product management, product marketing, partner management and commercial services for all distribution channels.

Prior to joining Oracle, Tom most recently worked for Sabre Hospitality Solutions as the Director of Solutions Consulting for the entire portfolio of Saber Hospitality products. He previously also managed the Sabre Hospitality product management team that included the SynXis CRS and Internet Marketing Services with responsibilities over the SynXis user's council, consultant advisory panel, usability, market research and product innovation prioritization.

Tom has over 25 years of experience of building teams and innovative products in the hospitality industry. He continues to be actively involved with HTNG, HEDNA and other industry organizations to be a voice of change and cultivating new ideas for the hospitality industry. Tom’s passion for the industry includes having held various positions within numerous property types and market segments including boutique, resort destination and time share properties.

During this time, he helped many flag-ship customers define and execute their global API strategies as well as implement multiple Oracle Cloud technologies to address a variety of integration and cloud-native needs.

Luis is a former Oracle Ace Director and Groundbreaker Ambassador, specializing in integration and APIs. He is the author of many articles and white papers and has authored 4 books on the topic –including the popular title Enterprise API Management (July 2019). Luis holds an MS in Systems Integrations from Universitat Politecnica de Valencia and a BS in Electronics Engineering from UNE.
