Oracle Accessibility Conformance Report

VPAT® Version 2.3 - April 2019

Name of Product:

Automated Cartridge System Library Software 8.5.1 (Updated)

Product Description:

ACSLS (Automated Cartridge System Library Software) is automated library management software. It facilitates automated tape operations for multiple clients, providing services and support to enhance tape library ease-of-use, performance, and availability. One ACSLS server can control Oracle StorageTek tape libraries as connected into a library complex, as individual libraries, or a mix of both.  ACSLS as a control server accepts client requests for tape mounts and dismounts and related tape library operations. It provides APIs for client applications (such as backup software) using tcp/ip/rpc, and SCSI.

ACSLS 8.5.1 on an SL4000 feature card requires SL4000 Feature Card Kit (Marketing PN# 7112392) to be running SL4000 firmware release 1.0.2 or later.  Whereas, ACSLS 8.5.0 only supports SL4000 Keystone firmware release 1.0.1.69.30201.

Date:

26-Aug-2019

Archive Note:

This VPAT applies to only version 8.5.1 prior to 17-Jul-2020. It does not apply to any versions of Automated Cartridge System Library Software 8.5.1 after this. This VPAT has been superseded by Automated Cartridge System Library Software (ACSLS) 8.5.1 (Updated 2020).

Notes:

The following product is excluded from this VPAT:

  • The Library Attach (LibAttach) application is not covered by this VPAT. LibAttach is an integrated software packaged that runs as a background service (hence no user interface) in the Windows Operating System.  It uses a standard Windows-based InstallShield Wizard and a Windows-based Configurator to specify server name, port number, and other Windows-based network interface information to connect a designated Windows application to the designated Library Server.
  • The ACSLS Broswer User Interface (BUI) is not covered by this submission.  The BUI is an optional component that provides duplication of a very limited subset of commands; those already covered by the lib_cmd portion of the CLI.  ACSLS is thus evaluated from a CLI perspective only.

The following product documentation is excluded from this VPAT:

  • PDF, mobi, ePub, and print versions of the product documentation are excluded
  • Oracle Help Center, Library Edition is excluded

Evaluation Methods Used:

Oracle's policy is to design, develop and test both products and documentation to be accessible. The recommended styles of testing for accessibility include: (i) algorithmic automated tests, (ii) human judgement tests such as tool-assisted tests, visual inspection and manual operation, and (iii) testing with assistive technology by people with and without disabilities. Additional information about Oracle's accessibility program is available on http://www.oracle.com/corporate/accessibility/index.html
