Key Management Cloud Service (KMCS) 18.4.2

Product Description:

Key Management Cloud Service provides encryption key management capabilities to Oracle Cloud Services including but not limited to SaaS, PaaS and IaaS, as well as for customers to use in their applications

Scope: Key Administrators can create master encryption keys and database master encryption keys. They can use these keys to enable the Oracle Database to implement Transparent Data Encryption. Other Services and applications can use the Service to generate secrets, which contain information like connection URLs, schema names etc, and data encryption keys which can be used to encrypt data. Applications can use KMCS to then decrypt data or get access to connect strings, URLs and other sensitive information required by their applications.

Recommended Configurations: Product is supposed to be used through a web browser interface or through HTTPS-based REST API integration. There is no restriction on the type of web browser to be used to access the application.

Product has only one user interface accessed through a web browser.

Notes:

This VPAT covers the web-based User Interface of KMCS alone, and does not cover the KMCS DB Agent or shell scripts that ship with it. The KMCS DB Agent is meant to be used by Oracle Ops only to setup TDE for Fusion SaaS databases. This DB Agent is a C/C++ Shared object, it has no UI but has some shell scripts to be used in registration of the agent. In addition to online documentation, KMCS comes with documents in PDF formats too. These documents are excluded from the scope of VPAT review.
