Warehouse Management for Resilient Supply Chains

To add to what seems like an endless list of supply chain disruptions over the last two years, supply chain leaders are now facing additional pressure to control costs as inflation increases and the economic outlook worsens. And with no signs of these pressures subsiding, supply chain visibility and strong warehouse management are more important than ever.

For our customers, the stakes couldn’t be higher. A recent study that we conducted found that 84 percent of people would cancel their purchase if their order was delayed and even more alarmingly, 80 percent said delays or shortages would cause them to stop buying from a brand entirely. It wasn’t all bad news though as on the other side of the coin, the same study found that 81 percent of consumers are willing to pay a premium for the smooth and timely delivery of their items.

Amidst all the changes and the challenges of the last few years, we have been working closely with our customers to help them build resilience into their supply chains and we are pleased that Gartner® has recognized us as a Leader in its 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Warehouse Management Systems1 report.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Oracle has been named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for Oracle Fusion Cloud Warehouse Management – part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (Oracle Cloud SCM). A complimentary copy of the report is available here.

In the report, Gartner noted, “despite being a very mature market, recent disruptions have spurred innovation, and while very challenging for some vendors and regions, the overall market is forecast to grow to over $4 billion by 2026 with a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 13%. WMS offerings continue to differ in areas such as usability, adaptability, decision support, scalability both up and down market, use of emerging technologies and life cycle costs. Furthermore, customers increasingly favor suites that can support end-to-end supply chain and logistics process orchestration.”

Oracle Warehouse Management is a cloud-based inventory and warehouse management platform that combines the speed and savings of the cloud with best-of-breed warehouse management and fulfillment capabilities. It enables our customers to transform warehouse operations to successfully manage complex fulfillment operations, gain total inventory visibility from the distribution center to the store shelf, and meet the challenges of today’s demand-driven marketplace.
