To simplify processes, reduce costs and enhance employee experience for its more than 26,000 colleagues, HealthPartners is teaming up with Oracle to move business processes in finance, supply chain and human resources to the cloud. Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite, which includes Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), and Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM), will modernize and streamline work that is essential to the success of HealthPartners, the largest consumer-governed, nonprofit healthcare organization in the U.S.

As an integrated care delivery and health care financing organization, HealthPartners serves 1.2 million patients and 1.8 million members in Minnesota, the upper Midwest and across the nation. The organization’s complex workflows, critical supply chain demands and payroll requirements currently use more than 40 legacy applications. Oracle’s cloud-based applications will improve efficiency, increase business visibility and enable lower costs, while reducing the number of third-party applications by up to 80 percent.

“Our vision is to deliver the highest quality health care at an affordable cost, and build trust with our members, patients, colleagues and partners,” said Penny Cermak, HealthPartners chief financial officer. “The software we use at HealthPartners, including Oracle, is more than just technology. It provides the foundation we need to advance our operational excellence and ultimately improve service to our members and patients.”

In addition, HealthPartners recently implemented Oracle Health Insurance Enterprise Policy Administration, Oracle Insurance Gateway, and Oracle Revenue Management and Billing to improve its billing processes, help maintain compliance to new regulations and pricing rules and enable clear and auditable premium calculations. By expanding its Oracle Cloud applications, HealthPartners will improve its user experience and increase visibility into critical business metrics across the organization.

“The health care industry has been on the front lines over this past year. With an influx of patients, shifting workforce priorities, increased demand for certain supplies, and unpredictable financial forecasting, the need for a reliable, integrated applications suite has never been greater,” said Steve Miranda, executive vice president of applications development, Oracle. “We are honored to be working with HealthPartners as they move these mission-critical business processes to the cloud, to enhance the delivery of health care services while driving down costs.”
