For $25, you can get Java certified—or build a webcam

March 2021
To celebrate Java’s 25th year, Oracle is offering a huge discount on Java certification: Only $25 for the exam, and the learning pathway (30 hours of educational content) is free! This is also a great opportunity for college students or people just getting into computer science (if the full exam is too daunting, the Java Foundations certification is a good introduction that still looks nice on your resume).

Also, this month on Pi Day we celebrated the Raspberry Pi. I made my first solo Pi project using the PiWebcam Linux firmware. I created a tutorial that cost me about $25 and that any complete beginner can follow. Now I’m hooked!
