For you this week: It’s hard to overemphasize the significance of Oracle MySQL HeatWave on AWS for developers, says an IDC research leader. Learn from Oracle’s finance leader on how she’s closing the books faster, with better insights. Hey, we know, we’ve talked a lot about Oracle CloudWorld lately—but we can’t help it since it’s almost here and we’re excited. This week’s example: OUTFRONT Media will talk about AI-fueled app development of a key mobile app. Also: Make SQL easier to test and maintain. |

“For developers, the ability to leverage existing MySQL skills with little or no additional effort to produce faster and better applications is attractive enough, but now developers can have the kind of database that in the past would have required a big, expensive DBMS.” |
—Carl Olofson, Research Vice President, IDC |

A lot of developers are building applications on AWS, and many use MySQL as the application database management system. But using a typical cloud-based MySQL deployment creates limits for developers in terms of power, scope, scalability, and cost. By making Oracle MySQL HeatWave available on AWS, “Oracle has just dropped a big productivity boost on your doorstep without the big price tag,” writes Carl Olofson, research vice president at IDC. |

What do finance leaders want? More automation in their financial close and more accurate predictions in their analysis, says Oracle’s Ivgen Guner, executive vice president of global business finance. Oracle does this using its own AI-based finance systems, Guner says, and the company’s finance leaders will be at CloudWorld to talk about how to achieve similar success.
