People are noticing that contributions to Dev.java have been increasing recently. In just a few months of being open, the Dev.java engineering team has accepted contributions from eight contributors who have offered 28 technical articles to help developers expand their understanding of Java and apply the technology new ways.
Here are the authors and their articles on Dev.java, and here is the contribution process on GitHub.

Most importantly, though, Venkat is well loved by so many of us in the Java community for his selfless contributions over the years. If you ever meet Venkat at an event anywhere in the world, please do reach out and introduce yourself and you'll see right away why he's so valued in our community!
Out in the Community
If you were at Devoxx UK in May, we hope you had a chance to catch up with several Oracle teams — Java Platform Group, Oracle Labs, Oracle Database, Java Developer Relations — that sent engineers to contribute technical sessions at the event. Check out the sessions here: Andres Almiray, Sharat Chander, Stefan Johansson, Ana Maria Mihalceanu, Per Minborg, Eric Sedlar, Shaun Smith, Alina Yurenko.
The Java team also ran sessions at Oracle DevLive New York City in May. And several engineering teams at Oracle sponsored JCON Europe in Germany in May and contributed multiple sessions at the event.
At Devnexus in April in Atlanta, Java DevRel's Sharat Chander won the event's community award for his memorable conference keynote! Also in April, multiple Oracle teams participated at Devoxx France.
As you can see, there are many different types of developer events where you'll find Java advocates participating, including Java User Groups, Oracle corporate events, and independent Java community conferences. We are a small team but we try to reach the most important venues so we can help educate developers and build the Java community.
Coming in June: Java Day Paris on June 6 and the Japan Java User Group Conference in Tokyo on June 16. And don't forget, of course, JavaOne in March 2025! But don't worry! There will be many more events before JavaOne next year. Well just keep a handy reminder here every month as we start working on building the best JavaOne yet. Stay updated on all of our events posted on Dev.java. |
