Welcome to 2024! It's going to be a big one! |
A look at some community events coming in 2024.
2024 will be another exciting year for the Java community! Oracle’s Java Developer Relations Team continues to invest in programs to improve your Java experiences. From the Inside Java newscast, JEP Café learning videos, and Sip of Java shorts (and more), you have a broad catalog of digital learning material to tap into. |
|
Beyond the online content offered to you, we continue to invest in ecosystem programs that help you build, grow and nurture relationships with Java peers in the community. This year, we’re re-introducing in-person Java Day events that allow Java developers to connect locally. The first one is in London (Mar 12) and we hope to see many of you there.
We’ve also seen the re-start of the Virtual Java User Group (vJUG), which adds to the global voice of JUGs around the world…please join! |
|
|
And…we continue to see Java conferences in almost every corner of the world that continue to spread Java knowledge and connect the community together…events such as DevNexus (Apr 9-11) that celebrates its 20th anniversary this year!
We welcome you to find Java conferences near you by visiting our Dev.java conference calendar. And let us know which conferences should be added…drop us an email!
We’re looking forward to investing in more Java community activities and will keep you updated here!

Team Update
The Java Developer Relations team continues to grow! This month we welcome Crystal Furman. Crystal has 25 years of experience in computer science public education, first as a high school teacher providing students with their first programming experience in Java and then most recently as a curriculum and assessment developer with College Board. In her role with College Board, she supported teachers and students learning foundational programming concepts in Java in preparation for the AP Computer Science A exam. She has a passion for broadening participation in computer science to include more women, persons of disabilities, and persons underrepresented in computer science. She is excited to find ways to bridge the learning gap for teachers and students as they move from Java 8 to the most current version of Java. |
