Frequently Asked Questions

Open all Close all
  • What are RoundTable events?

A RoundTable event is a web based call where the call is moderated by Oracle Experts but it is run based on the questions and engagement of the attendees. Each event will require active participation and the sharing of best practices and solutions employed by fellow users of Oracle Cloud. The Oracle Experts will engage throughout the call to keep momentum and also add to the discussion. The calls will not be recorded but there will be documentation and outputs shared via our public SLACK workspace (each RoundTable will have a separate channel dedicated to each event).

  • Who will be on each call?

Each call with have approximately five attendees plus two Oracle people

  • Is this just another webinar?

No. The round table is created where each attendee has raised a question(s) based on the same topic and would like to discuss it. You will, via your practical experience, with Oracle Cloud, be able to make suggestions and recommendations and propose solutions and also get suggestions and recommendations from the Oracle expert.

  • I would like to attend but not engage?

Then round-tables are not for you at the moment. The purpose here is to get practical answers and discuss real-world solutions from fellow users while seeking help from Oracle.

  • Is the Oracle person going to run the call?

No, but we will provide momentum and make suggestions where necessary and ensure each attendee gets a chance to discuss issues they and more importantly some real-world solutions.

  • What’s in it for Oracle?

Simple, if you are happy, we are happy. Sometimes, you may have an issue that others have made a relatively simple solution (or complex ones) they used and would recommend. Also we would really like to hear your recommendations and innovative workarounds.

  • Is this a Technical event?

Yes, the attendees will all have practical hands-on experience (at least a year) of using Oracle Cloud. This should be considered a Dev event.

  • What are good Roundtables questions?

How do I implement a blog with load balancing and security?
What’s the best practice in implementing a secure architecture for an ordering app, with DMZ and all?
What is the best DB to use, ATP, JSON, MySQL, or no-SQL?

  • What questions are not suited for Roundtables?

What is Service X and when do I use it? (note: we cover these topics frequently in Cloud Coaching sessions)
