Country Leader, Oracle Romania.
Sorin Mindrutescu has been the country leader for Oracle Romania since 2003. In this role, he is responsible for local sales and project delivery. In Romania, Oracle has two major business directions: the local organization focuses on the sale of software products and the service and technical support centers offer assistance for customers in Romania and outside the country.
Mindrutescu joined Oracle in 2001 and has held senior positions within the company. Between 2004 and 2008, he was sales director for South Eastern Europe, coordinating 11 countries. His priorities involved business development (mainly startup projects), creating teams, and developing business strategies, taking into account local and regional characteristics.
Prior to this, Mindrutescu was financial services industry manager in Oracle Romania for three years. During this period, he managed many large projects, among which were the design and application of the IT strategy for Banca Comercială Română—Erste Bank, the largest Romanian bank.
Before joining Oracle, Mindrutescu held managerial positions at important banks in Romania, including Banca Turco-Română and Bank Austria Creditanstalt.
Mindrutescu holds an executive master’s degree in business administration from the University of Edinburgh Business School and ENPC School of International Management in Paris. He is licensed in finance, banks, and accounting from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
