Having one system of HR data across the enterprise is key, with everyone having access to the same data at the same time in a user-friendly, click-and-view environment.

Business challenges

As one of the largest nonprofit health insurers in the United States, EmblemHealth’s family of companies has more than 4,500 employees across its enterprise. Through its health plans (EmblemHealth and ConnectiCare), medical group practices (AdvantageCare Physicians and BronxDocs), community centers, and digital wellness startup (WellSpark), EmblemHealth serves customers’ healthcare needs, with a workforce spanning the globe.

One of the challenges the insurer’s human resources leaders faced was providing real-time data in a user-friendly, digital environment. For example, managers needed better information about hiring practices, retention practices, and the status of employee goals. They requested data to better understand employee demographics across the enterprise, engagement, and the possible reasons behind turnover.

Managers struggled to make sense of data in multiple Excel spreadsheets across multiple timeframes. These fragmented reports resulted in incomplete or out-of-date information, impacting the speed and quality of decision-making. Leaders needed to easily view turnover rate, open positions, retention rate, the time positions have been open, where jobs were posting, and progress toward increasing diversity.

HR managers go to the Oracle Analytics Cloud, click on the dashboards, and they instantly see real-time data regarding which employees have goals and which don't, with percentages. At review times, it’s saving them countless hours of reporting and giving them real-time data when needed.

Why EmblemHealth Chose Oracle

EmblemHealth  was already using Oracle Cloud HCM, and because of its seamless integration with Oracle Analytics Cloud, the company gained a complete, real-time reporting solution across multiple data elements and platforms.

Results

Instead of human resources running standalone HCM reports for an ever-growing number of business users, now Oracle Analytics Cloud is the single source of information. Oracle Cloud HCM data is updated hourly, which is critical to making real-time actionable decisions. Previously managers would get data that was at least 4 or 5 days old. Now, all that information is available in real time so that managers have accurate employee data. They can view dashboards in a simple environment that allows them to slice and dice data for their specific needs.

The company combines data from Oracle Cloud HCM along with external sources in data flows that feed dashboards in Oracle Analytics Cloud. Managers and executives now have data from multiple sources readily available when needed.
