Installing OEDQ

OEDQ should only be installed on machines where you need processes to run. Client machines do not require an installation, and may connect to a machine with OEDQ installed using a web browser, provided they have version 1.5 or 1.6 of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. OEDQ uses Java Webstart to download and start the client applications on the client machine.

To install OEDQ:

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Extract the contents of the provided zip file to a local drive.
  3. Run dnDirectorSetup.exe from your software distribution
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.

The default installation process installs the OEDQ repository on your system. The OEDQ repository is a necessary component of any OEDQ installation. You do not have to use the default OEDQ repository, however. Instead, you may use an Oracle database as your OEDQ repository. To do this, set up an Oracle database, and use the Server Configuration - Database Setup option on the Enterprise Data Quality Launchpad (accessible from Start - Programs - Enterprise Data Quality) to connect to it.

To change your installation configuration, use the Configuration option on the Launchpad.
